Cubs are actually playing pretty damn well

Recently, 18-12 in their last 30 and have moved up slowly in the NL standing. 9 games out of the last wild card is probably too much to ask for but Ive been really impressed with this teams moxie this year. They have played .500 ball over the last 86 games. MUCH better than I could have ever hoped for this year.

I'm not surprised.. the Cubs aren't really a bad team, I mean, they actually have a better than average rotation. The lineup is the fault for them being under .500 period, not their SP.

Cubs have been one of the best power hitting teams in the NL, but they have one of the lowest averages and OBPs (they're 4th in SLG%, but 13th in OBP). They're 9th in the NL in runs scored. Their lineup hasn't been great by any means, but it hasn't been awful either. Their bullpen hasn't been very good either.

Yeah, their pen is a mite 'rank' though, now that you mention it.. although their rotation has been somewhat covering it up recently.
