and he has a case (Seabrook throws his stick and the call should have been a penalty shot for the Stars).

so what you're saying is....... Stars got fucked?
They Ott to have had a chance to tie the game in the final minute...
I'm convinced that all NHL refs are retards. You could try to screw up a game and not miss as many calls as they do.
Doubt it, they have a penchant for Lehtenon late goals.
I think that's a tad strong, but that looked like a clear case of swallowing the whistle in the final minute. You also wonder how much player/team reputation plays into it as well. If that's slow-footed Cory Sarich throwing his stick in the final minute, I'm 99% sure the Stars are getting a penalty shot.
A few years ago I would have agreed with you about my assessment, but a couple years of Center Ice really opened up my eyes to just how bad they really are. Consistently bad.
I second that. I get to watch all of the Kings and Ducks games living in Socal, plus I have center ice for the Penguin games. One common theme I've noticed is the poor officiating. It's untimely, hypocritical and oftentimes just plain-old fucked up.
On another related note, officiating in the big four professional sports in NA is generally poor. I personally never understood how the NFL can be the most lucrative prof. sporting enterprise in the land, yet they don't even have full-time officiating. The guys that run games on Sunday/Monday are part-time employees.
The calls in the NHL that irritate me are the make-up calls. A bad call either goes against or is missed on team A, and subsequently team B gets F'd generally minutes later. I loathe that style of officiating.
