I have class with cross and the guy is freaking jacked. If he makes the second level, I don't see any defensive back being able to bring him down. I'd go as far as saying most linebackers are going to get destroyed by him. I know he was our goal line go to guy last season, but without question I expect to see him in every play inside the five. The dudes a complete monster, no homo, the guy looks like a body builder. I think it'd be like running into a brick wall trying to tackle him.

Cross will will get what AA got last year carry wise

Newby will get about 5-8 situational package like plays

Cross is real hungry. If he doesn't get the PT here he will be gone next year.

I hope Pelini starts to realize this. The kid has done everything he can to get PT, he needs to get it even if he is splitting time with AA.

I still feel he will be a much better back than AA. Just hope it's at Nebraska.

Cross is good but he lacks speed and quickness...in our offense those things are a must. He will get his carries but I doubt he leaves, he got a good ammount of playing time last year and will get more this year. I would guess 10 touches a game at the most (especially if Abdullah is still returning kicks). Newby will be Abdullah's true #2, he's an Abdullah clone without the fumbling and with better speed. Cross will get his, but Newby will get used more than Heard ever was.

if he's that jacked, i say put him in and let him rumble. I honestly don't care about speed and quickness, as long as the guy can get 4 or more yards a pop, then put him in. I'd take 5 yards every play with a touchdown at the end anytime.

Not sure if that speed is a must. I am curious to see how his weight loss effects him. I heard he has not dropped in the weight room so he should still have the same strength. I just have to like him with every thing he has done and he has talked about wanting to become an every down back. That is what scares me if Newby goes ahead of him. Newby will have his plays. If Cross is doing everything you ask of him than give him what he asks for.

Me personally I love to see the workhorse backs of the 90's. Cross is in the mold of these guys that takes a 3rd and 3 and drags 3 guys with him to get you 7.

Finally do you have some info regarding him not leaving? I know he says he wants to be an every down back and we have lost plenty in the last few years. If you can set my mind at ease please do so.
