I caught a crappie the other day and some how my line broke off just above the bobber. Shit happens right. But rather then fetching it I let it go, well the crappie re schooled and I used it as a homing beacon to follow the school around. Everywhere the boober went I followed. I got my limit of smallish fish, not a good lake. But the accidental technique will be repeated when I get to better crappie waters.

Nice. I've heard of people here using that trick to track schools of spotted trout or speckled trout as we call them. Catch the first one and run a line through his gill plate with a cork on it and follow it. I have yet to try it but they say it works like a charm. I will have to try it the next time I go crappie fishin too.

Let me know how it works for you guys and I'll do the same next time I crappie fish. It worked out great the first time but I was not on my favorite crappie lake.

I said boober up top instead of bobber. lol. I may have had something else on my mind when posting.
