I'm surprised it took this long
This is not Shanny trying to protect RG, but trying to prove that he is the problem.
Not that I agree with that but that's what I think is happening.
You really think so? Perhaps you are right. I haven't followed Washington that closely, but it seems to me that Shanahan's insistence on sticking with a badly injured RGIII in the playoffs last year and then rushing him back from surgery have been Shanahan's undoing.

I remember running my old car into the ground so I had an excuse to buy a new one.
And if Cousins plays well and they win their remaining games, then how can they go back to RGIII next year? It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
His undoing has been the insolence by his owner. The utter disregard for the coach and his favoritism for RGIII at the expense of his coach. I also think this is Shanahan trying to prove his point. He wanted Cousins all along. Maybe he's trying to get fired.![]()
Maybe? Try definitely. Also - don't go placing all the blame of Snyder - that is too easy of a target & is probably the reason why Shanahan had his media contacts plant these stories. So he displayed favoritism to RG3? So what? Now - if this was used to help decide when he should play & what type of plays should be run then yes that is a problem. However - if this is about going to dinner with RG3 and on occasion providing him with a limo - big deal - that doesn't just happen with the Redskins.

I didn't say it did. I'm not attacking your team. The fact is, Shanny has an ego and Snyder does as well. Shanahan didn't want to trade up but his hand was forced. The animosity was borne from that. That's my opinion. It could be wrong.
