Tate is the kind of player you want on your team, but don't want to play against. I think Tate is real good, but really would like to see him get hit in the mouth real hard. Cooper tonight had 75 yards and should have had 75 more if Dak could throw a decent deep ball. Tate is more of a slot guy and Cooper is an outside guy and a legit number 1. Tate is not a number one.

Right now the Tate deal looks like a huge mistake because the team is not going anywhere this year and you gave up a third rounder for a rental of a guy in a meaningless second half.

Dallas looks like a far better deal simply because they now look to be contending for a division title for sure. That said, I still think a first rounder for Cooper was too steep a price based on his talent. First rounders are far from a lock of course, but look at Leighton Vander Esch for an example of the upside when you do hit on one.

Beasley is a poor man's Tate. And you need as many of those guys as you can get.

I too think the 1st was too high of a price, but look at it this way. Everyone last year said Dallas should have used its #1 on Ridley but we instead took LVE. We were going to use the #1 next year on a WR, no question on that. WR's don't usually plug into the team and ready to go as rookies, with few exceptions. That would mean 2020 would be our first year to logically think we could get anything out of our 2019 #1 WR. 2020 will also be the first year that Dak and Zeke are likely both on new expensive contracts. So instead we used the 2019 #1 to get a WR that can help right now. It only costs us more money next year than it otherwise would have, but gives us a chance to win next year while Dak should still be on his rookie deal and Zeke on his extension year. That means we have a realistic window of 2019. We are showing we likely have the defense to do that. We have the RB. Hopefully we will have the OL. We now hopefully have the WR. Just need to resign our DL and find a TE that can block.

Last thing to keep in mind, Cooper is 6 months older than Ridley. Other than the wear and tear of the NFL game, there isn't an age difference that matters there.
