Maybe, but if the Seahawks had the same cap space as the 49ers, think they would of matched the offer easily.I still say the cap trouble is being overblown. Just as likely that it came down to the team not thinking a 30 year old coming off a ruptured achilles was worth $11M of cap space.
Maybe. We will never know. I think it's still possible it could be as simple as deciding it was time to move on from the old guard. They pretty much low-balled Sheldon Richardson as well, reportedly. I am not sure they offer $8-$9M to Sherm when they cut him at $11M. I dont think their issue was just $3M.Maybe, but if the Seahawks had the same cap space as the 49ers, think they would of matched the offer easily.
I agree. He's been my 2nd favorite Hawk of this era, but I havent been a fan of everything he's done. He straight up lied about the confrontation with Jim Moore when he told Moore he would "ruin his career" and then totally denied it all, saying "no one knows" what was said when there was video proof. In general, he seems a bit insecure and gets hyper-defensive at any sort of criticism.I will always wish the best for Richard Sherman and hope to see him in the Hall of Fame someday, but this article is pretty cringeworthy IMO. He's trying to pretend like he's some big victim in all of this and in the process acts extremely defensive over this entire thing. Boo-hoo.
He is defensive, he did what was best for him and is getting roasted. I don’t like a lot of stuff Sherman said and did as a Seahawks, but I hold no grudges. Won’t surprise me to see the 49ers cut bait next season and he ends up back on the Seahawks a year removed from his injury.
That's why I don't understand why he's being so defensive. He very likely will be cut after the first year. He's acting like he signed some great contract with the 49ers.
Because it's Sherman. I love the guy, but he has a pretty shallow ego. He may be hyping this up as much to help him play (he loves the chip) as for any other reason.

You may be right about him wanting to stay IDK. Also think getting criticism from his fans stings.I got the feeling that he was more hurt by how the organization treated him.
According to Sherman they A) Cut him with even offering to renegotiate his contract B) Refused to match the contract the Niners offered him.
I really don't think he wanted to leave Seattle.

I have a feeling that Sherman will be back with us at some point
