Are often bogus, and when the sunshine seekers do their comparisons, it's always about something as inane as trying to decide if the Reds are another incarnation of the 1914 Boston Braves.

But here's one:

Since June 1:

Miami: June 1 August 1 Record
15-41 42-65 27-24
Reds: June 1 August 1 Record
35-21 60-49 25-28

That's Miami, folks .... the team everyone thought would break the Mets record for losses.
That's Cincinnati, folks ... the team that Dusty was gonna take to the Land of Milk and Horny ... er Honey.

Gotta believe the oven just got another 100 degrees hotter on the lounge lizard DustMop. I am hearing some rumblings within the Reds organization. They are not to happy and this may be the last ride for the toothpicker in Cincy. I think a complete tank and miss of the last Wild Card spot seals his fate.

If the June 1-Aug. 1 pace continues, the Reds will win 84 games.

If that holds up, it will be an improvement to the season in between playoffs in 2011. It's been kind of a roller coaster 91W,sub .500, 97W, 2013? kind ride. Interesting though, the Reds improved every year Dusty's been here until 2011. 74,78, big jump to 91 in 2010. They fell back in 2011, and won 97 last year.

If they do win 84 this year, it will match EXACTLY Dusty's current Reds win percentage. The Reds are 480-442 under Dusty, a .520 win pct. .520 gets you 84 wins in a 162 game season. Usually, not a playoff worthy record, but good enough to keep a job if your team hasn't played .500 in a decade, or hasn't won a WS in a century or so. It will also give Dusty 501 Reds wins, a milestone...or a millstone, depending on personal perspective. He has another year left on his current contract.
