My son was in a tournament this weekend and played against Patrik Allvins son Adam (#10). Kid is a solid player

Whole lotta russian being spoken at scotiabarn this afternoon. My son knew podkolzin was there on the ice and “some guy wearing abbotsford pants” (klimovich im guessing). I showed him a picture of dan milstein and he said yah “that chubs was standing there in the hall” So i can only guess gold star had some clients practicing together today.

Had to ask my son if he saw any canucks coaches lol. The answer was no thankfully

it still amazes me that people were all gung ho about Bruce and his unsustainable unstructured team play which relied on Vezina level goaltending.
Boudreaus record with the Canucks ... 74 points in 57 games > 106 point full 82 game regular season pace

Tocchet comes in a brings defensive structure and almost every team defensive stat improves without Vezina level goaltending for a large part of his run.
Tocchets record with the Canucks ... 44 points in 34 games > 106 point full 82 game regular season pace

yeah i got sucked into Bruce and the excitement mostly because it has been years since it was that fun.

I learned pretty quick on that one

I will need more than 34 games for Tocchet but the improved d stats are at least more encouraging.

I hope it works out with Tocchet as head coach, but I also think Boudreau's stats are a little low because he was a dead man walking behind the Canucks bench waiting for the hammer to fall for about 6 weeks or so.

I don't think that Bruce was affected by being a lame duck coach. I believe we will know if Tocchet is making any differences by the start alone next year. but if he stil lhas OEL and Myers on that team it wont matter lol

I think the effect was more on the players, not Bruce. At any rate, we'll see if Bruce gets another head coaching gig in the league, but he's not a young guy anymore.

I still think he would have been a good Dutter midseason replacement.

Bruce could have taken the players from being over coached to not being coached at all very liberating and a breath of fresh positive air for the players lol
