Anybody else as excited as I am for the Combine and getting a better look at all these prospects? I don't take the Combine all that serious in player evaluation as game tape speaks a lot louder than running in shorts but this is usually the time people really begin to figure out where prospects are going to go and what players just might be available for the Broncos at their picks.

I always look forward to combine. Your right about not putting to much stock into the combine from a fans point of view but the scouts and coaches are able to discern and evaluate much more from combine than us I`am sure. I really enjoy seeing some of the lesser known guys that open some eyes and potentialy move up the draft chart and you do get to see quite a bit of game tape during combine process also. I like to do my own kinda top 10 guys that I wouldn`t mind seeing Denver draft during/after combine and discuss with you guys who you thought stood out and liked also. Even though the 40 yd dash obviously doesn`t mean a whole lot, it is fun to watch who ends up with fastest time and if a combine record is broke. Lot of stuff I enjoy and your always going to see some surprises and eye-opening performances. I`am def ready!!

I always enjoy getting to see some of the late round guys get a chance to make a name for themselves. I agree the coaches and scouts get a lot more than we do especially from the interview part. From what I understand the stuff that we see means much less than the stuff that we don't get to see like the medical exams and then the interviews. I would love to see what that looks like sometime and see what questions the different teams ask of each player.

Absolutely think the behind the scene things like the interviews would be really interesting. The questions and how they respond to them. Wouldn`t surprise me if in the near future they explore that and more than likely already are. Hope it doesn`t turn into a reality show though:rollseyes:

Oh I am sure they will...The NFL seems to be very focused on the idea of having the fans be as involved as they possibly can in the game. The whole 'Hard Knocks' show is just the beginning of what the NFL probably has in mind. I know they are working on getting cameras attached to every player on the field so they can see and hear everything that is going on. To me though that kind of thing is just putting these players in a position they don't need to be. Things will be said and done that will not be pretty and players will be scrutinized for things that have been going on since the beginning of the game.

I'm liking the combine stuff.

Just means we're that much closer to turning the page into the next season

I do like seeing some of the stats of some of these beasts (bench, 40 times etc.) Like cd said.....gives the probably unknown guy a way to get known.

Watched alot of O-line yestrdy. Pretty impressive 10 yd split times. Got late start on QB/WR this morn. I thought Richardson from Colo was participating in Combine. Haven`t seen him as of yet. Am I wrong?

Nevermind. Just as I got back to tv they said "2nd group of wrs coming up" and there he was. Tied for 3rd best time in 40 and has look very fluid running and catching in the other drills so far. I think he would be a steal in 3rd or 4th rd myself.

Man this combine has been crazy with how many great athletes there are this year. Anybody really standing out to any of you that you would love for the Broncos to take a deeper look at?

A few for me...Donte Moncrief is one that I have liked and the combine definitely confirmed what I like about him. The guy has the speed to go vertical but the height and jumping ability to win those tough contested catches.

Kelvin Benjamin surprised me with his size and speed for how big he is. Definitely would be able to help against those physical corners.

OL just dominated the Combine this year it looks like. A guy I would love to see the Broncos look at is Joel Bitonio. Projects to be a LG in the NFL. He has the speed to pull and the mean streak to really drive guys into the ground.

Defensively--I know he didn't run at the combine but a guy I am starting to like more as I watch games of him is Dee Ford. Even at the combine he showed quite a bit of attitude in his interviews and just seems like he has a nasty streak about him. Plays like he is running from a fire and finishes quarterbacks with authority. Can't wait to see what he runs at his pro day.

Aaron Donald--A DT running a 4.68 is just down right impressive. Undersized for his position but as a 3-tech in a 4-3 the guy could definitely become a huge pass rusher. Reminds me of Geno Atkins

Jackson Jeffcoat--The best pass rusher in the Big 12 this past year and really showed his athleticism. Might have moved himself up a whole round with his performance today.

My personal favorite for a guy I want to see us take in the 3rd or 4th round would be Kareem Martin of North Carolina. Has great size/speed combination and a 3-down player at DE for us. I think with the right coaching the guy could become a 10 sack a season type guy for the next 6-7 years.

For the MLB position my favorite guy was disappointing in Smallwood running over a 5 second 40. I know those numbers mean little on the field but he was known for his athleticism. Christian Jones might have passed him on my list of favorites now. Boreland looked good as well. At least we will have some options throughout the draft with all of these guys.

Well my favorite player that could have been possibly around our pick maybe just put him out of our reach. Dee Ford just ran a 4.53 (same time as Clowney), put up 29 reps on the bench press (crushed Clowney), had the same broad jump if I remember right and just a hair shorter on the vertical jump.

I am not sold on Dee Ford for us. I think he is best suited for a 3-4 and while we run a hybrid I think there will be too many downs a #31 overall might sit on the bench.

Ryan Shazier is about to see his draft stock skyrocket. Supposedly he ran a 4.36 today at his pro day. I was hoping he would be there at 31 for us and team him up with Trev and Miller to form one of the more athletic linebacking cores in the NFL but after today that might be a bit tougher.

Crap!!:gaah:I had a feeling he was prob more on teams radar than most think. I wouldn`t be surprised if he went ahead of Mosley and Barr to tell ya the truth esp after a 4.3 40. Guess if Denver really likes him their gonna have to trade up or go B"D"PA. As much as I still like Borland, he prob going to go early to mid 2nd and Denver won`t get shot at him either unless they really like him at 31. Looking more like Tuitt or Kony at 31 now. Thanks for update cd. Good job. Good job Shazier!!

Now given draft season is crazy and players will rise and fall by the week but one guy I do see slipping that I wouldn't mind seeing the Broncos look into is that of Anthony Barr. I actually saw him mocked to the Broncos I think on NFL.com the other day. Others have talked about him being that guy that slips for no reason all other than teams reaching for needs. He is a project player but in the end could be a top 10 guy from this draft. Especially when you think teams will be focused towards Von giving him a ton of one on one situations.

On Tuitt and Kony I'm starting to cool on them a bit. Tuitt if we didn't have Wolfe would be a guy I would be higher on as he is that nice all-around DE that you need but we have that in Wolfe already. We need a pass rushing specialist opposite of Von to get after the quarterback. Ealy is a guy that is a jack of all trades but master of none. He is decent against the run and pretty good as a pass rusher but he reminds me of Robert Ayers in a guy that just seems that step too slow. Nice to have for depth kind of thing but never quite becomes that star you are hoping for.

You mean someone like Quanterus Smith?

I am excited for Smith but even John Elway has flat out said expect the Broncos to go after a Franchise Pass Rusher either through FA or the draft so to me they realize even if Smith comes back healthy and contributes they still need another great pass rusher. The old saying can't have enough pass rushers is for the most part true. Look at last season with Smith, Von, Wolfe, and others all going down with injury and how we had 0 pressure in the Super Bowl.

Especially now days when teams ( last yr 55% passing) are just winging the ball now, you better have some pass rushing depth to keep up. I don`t care if you got Von on one side and Watt on the other, those guys are going to get gassed if their expected to go balls out all game. It just aint happening. You better have some guys to spell them that can be effective or......you get a 2nd half ass whoopin ala Denver/Seattle. I think/believe if Denver can pk up one more very good edge rusher, stay healthy and keep Phillips,Ayers to spell Von and ( Allen?), keep the DTs they have now and good draft pk or two to back them up....we`ld be fine with the D line crew. Now,,,, all we need is 1 Lb that can go sideline to sideline ( Shazier) and 2 guys that are just good run stuffers ( Trev, new guy and...Irving?) and some added Db physicallity/ cover guys (ala Seattle Dbs) that take pressure off lbs, to go along with DRC , Harris and Web. Holmes will kill next yr but he needs help big time IMMHO Gents.
