The Bengals re-signed Anthony Collins and signed Denver DE Derrick Harvey.

He was picked 1 spot ahead of the great Keith Rivers in that year's draft.

The run on top 10 defenders that year went Dorsey, Gholsten, Ellis, Harvey, and Rivers..... Nice draft indeed.

Ellis is pretty good, and who I wanted that year.

The good news is that Carlos Dunlap is no longer the laziest man on the team - That distinction will now belong to Derrick Harvey.

Dunlap will have somebody to lounge on the sidelines with.

Ellis had 29 sacks in over 700 snaps last year..... Not really the dominating talent he was expected to be. A few reports mention him as potentially being cut.

BTW -- Anyone find it surprising that Collins re-signed with the Bengals? What's in it for him? Marvin won't start the guy and apparently he has no desire to play anywhere else but tackle. I figured someone would give him a look to compete at RT.

Thought I read somewhere the Bengals have considered moving him to Guard......wouldn't shock me.

That might be a good move for him.....Smith established himself as a competent RT last year, so moving in next to Smith at RG makes sense, especially given Collins' pass protection skills, which would somewhat offset Wharton's pass protection deficiencies on the other side....Cook could offer more help to the left side in pass protection.....it might actually work, and once again we have an upgrade by definition, because whatever Collins turns out to be, he won't be McGlynn.....

We declined Tits extension, so maybe Collins has been told he is in line for the job next year if he resigns.

We are saigning "decent" players, no superstars, and filling out our roster, while keeping our picks intact, improving scouting staff, etc.

I have to admit, I like the direction this team is going in lately. With Daltopn leading us and Green giving us some top notch talent, we are building.

If we could land David DeCastro and Kendall Wright in the draft, we will be okay on the offensive side of the ball for several years to come.

With us signing two DB's (Allen and Jones), along with Hall and Clements, and a couple work with CB in Ghee and Murray, we may not even draft a single CB.

Our last real FA NEED is to resign Pat Simms.

Collins won't move to guard. Marv said that they tried and he didn't like it.

Seems like some of us were pointing at Harvey that year, and disappointed that we didn't get him.....instead we were so lucky to get Rivers, and now we have Harvey too....woooooooooooooooo!!!!!

We go after every fucking underachiever out there......we should go after Gholsten now......

If Zim can light a fire under Harvey the Bengals may have a steal on their hands. Buts thats a big if.
