From almost in the playoff to getting smashed by USC in the rose bowl

True. It just goes to show that you get rewarded for losing only one game in a weaker conference.

The experts just made a great point here. If Penn State had played Portland State and spanked them in week two instead of losing a heartbreaker to Pitt, they would be 12-1 and automatically in the top four.
And if Michigan would have played the Colorado that they thought they scheduled in 2013, their
Non-conference would have been shit

So, teams get rewarded for running the table against lesser teams.

I think the bigger issue was Penn State went 2-2 against the top 25

Everyone else in contention has at least 3 top 25 wins, and at most only 1 loss

They obviously matter but can't have 2 losses and other teams with better or similar resumes with fewer losses.

It was enough to jump the team that beat them by 39, but not the team they beat H2H. LOL. It's like the committee made a half-hearted gesture to show that they really do value conference championships. The commitee should have just been consistent and kept Michigan ahead of Penn State.

They basically said to Oklahoma, "Learn how to play defense"

LOL

As if the "committee" really puts more than 5 seconds thought into this. Give me a break. It's about the money. They want an Alabama/OSU final. They'll likely get that.

That genius asking the committee guy about advanced statistics was priceless.

I think that's a bit misleading too. I mean, Pitt also beat Clemson.

2-1 against the top 8 is another way to look at this in favor of PSU.

It's just a tough pill to swallow when you win the Championship of arguably the best conference and don't get in.

I thought OK should have gotten that 6 spot. They won their conference outright. That team in ann arbor finished 3rd in their own division.
