You hate to see it.He has UGA and Texas highly ranked in most positions. I'm surprised that Alabama is so low in many areas.
I like reading whatever i can get my hands on it helps the offseason go by.Just curious, is there anyone here who prefers any college football preview magazine over Phil Steele? Back in the day, I always went for either "GamePlan" or "Street & Smith," but nothing comes close to Steele from what I've seen.
NDSt had some really good skill players during their run in 1AA, but their dominating line play was the one consistent factor that allowed them to dominate. Maulers on both sides of the ball, what a late colleague liked to refer to as "big, corn fed angry white guys."MWC:
QB - Hawaii
RB - UNLV
WR - Hawaii
OL - North Dakota State
DL - North Dakota State
LB - New Mexico
DB - New Mexico
Best post I've read in awhile. We used to get the preview magazines for every sport. Athlon, Street & Smith and The Sporting News. My father would buy them and us kids would read them, cover to cover. Me and my brother had epic fights over them. I knocked out one of his teeth over the S&S college football one. My father finally had to buy two just for household peace.
Street & Smith and Game Plan were our go to magazines. Game Plan folded in the 90s, after they made the controversial decision to run gambling tip and phone sex ads. Their readership (and especially parents of younger readers) were not amused. We used to get the preview magazines for every sport. Athlon, Street & Smith and The Sporting News.
