I already addressed this, they should use facebook likes or something else that's scientific...not this "50 miles from campus" bullshit

this study has already been done

N.C.A.A. Fan Map: How the Country Roots for College Football

based off of facebook likes, UNC was the most popular team in Charlotte:

That's for roundball

Article says for football. Could be on to something though, b/c facebook pages for college teams aren't sport specific.

"The most consistently loyal fans in America live in Wisconsin. More than 87 percent of fans in some Wisconsin ZIP codes support the Badgers, a level that isn't reached anywhere else, our estimates show. That's why the red in the map is so dark. Though the numbers aren't nearly so high elsewhere, Wisconsin territory also stretches into Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois and Michigan."

UW-Whitewater---greatest dynasty at Division III 6 nattys in 8 years 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014
Yeah, and Grand Valley State in Michigan stole tons of fans from UM in 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2006 when they were winning titles.

The conference that UW-Whitewater is in contains all UW-xxxxxxxxx schools:

UW-Eau Claire
UW-La Crosse
UW-Oshkosh
UW-Platteville
UW-River Falls
UW-Whitewater
UW-Stevens Point
UW-Stout

So there are 8 more. Helluva DIII conference in many sports. 115 nattys across all sports
I actually enjoy watching the Divison III games around here.

Hell, I even enjoy watching the junior college hoops conference in the area. There has been some good players come through this JC conference.
