I really thought the respect he showed for Burkhead in an interview after the game showed what a classy individual Green is.

That is all I have to say... For now!

I also liked that he sought out Zac Lee after the CU game to congratulate him.

You can tell he did it with purpose..

I know it was a big game and a Colorado defense but it seems to me that the O line really stepped up. Knowing we've had plenty of lesser opponents where they looked flat, just curious how much it has to do with who is at the helm.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Colorado have a rushing defense ranked in the top 30 nationally? We've played worse rushing defenses this year.

I think our players knew what was at stake and they played with great passion. Football is a game of teamwork and passion and that has been lacking at times this year, but certainly not this game.

If most of that passion is carried over to the next game, I have no doubt we'll be victorious. Hallelujah! I just had to add that extra word for the heck of it!

Are you suggesting that maybe the players are starting to grow tired of Martinez and don't want to play for him anymore?

I think possibly the team is willing to work with whoever is in the position because that is what you do for the team. But at the same Martinez came in and was/is going to be the save all for a floundering offense, the media going nuts over him and the fan base while the rest of the offense being slammed for no passion or at best inconsistency.

While Colorado was indeed a big game and they showed up tp play why did we not see this in other big games this year? The team we saw last night would of ran over Texas and Texas A&M and never gone into overtime with Iowa State.

I don't know if it is just inconsistancy where they happened to show up Friday, lack of respect or chemistry with Martinez, or even possibly Martinez being the Freshman appointed to save the team. but Friday was the team that would have played in the BCS championship if they had shown up in every game this year.

I think we're starting to see a pattern develop. Nebraska seems to go off on teams after they lose in heartbreaking fashion. Especially if it's late in the season. I hope we play like we did for the next two games. Players like Green, Broekemeier, and Burkhead have stepped up big time, let's see if they can keep it up.

Broekemeier could be a hero for us, mark my words.

I have no worry about the bowl. Pelini has shown he is one of the best preparing for bowl games. Next week worries me. They need to find a way to keep this week's level of play going into next week.
