I think your right, but I don't keep up with those procedural items, but seems to make sense.
maybe the contract is based on the NFL year or when it was created..and this is the procedural part that is merely a formality. honestly don't follow football contracts from this angle at all

Still think Miami goes with an offensive minded coach. My prediction at the moment is still Brian Daboll since he’s worked with Tua previously. But whomever it is, if Tua doesn’t drastically improve, they’ll use one of those two picks in the next draft on a qb again.
