I doubt he'll win, despite having the same record today as Arians and Garrett. But I personally have to give Caldwell a lot of props. In Indy and even all the interviews he has done here, he seems like kind of a wet noodle. But (besides for Raiola who is who he is at this point) he has done a wonderful job of instilling some discipline in one of the most out of control teams in the league coming into this year. And I know Arizona has dealt with some injuries, but we haven't exactly been the healthiest team ever either.

Really Jim Caldwell gets nothing?

The Lions had a losing record last season and have made 1 playoffs in 12 years.

If this was the politic boards you would all be getting called Racist!

Yeah... can't believe I left him off my list. He really did bring discipline to a team that seriously needed it. He gets a ton of credit for that.

Due to the QB situation, Arians. Garrett would be my number 2 considering what folks thought about the Cowboys prior to the season.

Should a HC get Coach of the Year if they lost 5 of their last 7 games of the season?

Arians. I thought they were done when Stanton went down.

Caldwell would be my homer pick. It's nice to have an intelligent grown up running things after the last few years. Coaching is a bottom line gig and he led a team that had won 11 combined the past 2 years to 11 wins and a playoff spot. If he'd had even a mediocre kicker to start the year they would have been sitting at home yesterday waiting to see who they'd be playing at Fords Field this week.

It's coach of the year, not coach of a 7 game stretch. Especially when most of those games were against very solid teams with their third string QB.

Also, if I'm correct the playoffs aren't factored in so they closed the year out 2-4. @SEA, @ATL, vs. KC, @STL, vs. SEA, @ SF. That's a rough stretch even if healthy.

I gotta plug my boy Doug Marrone HC of the Bills. Talk about righting a ship and in his second year at that.

Excellent point... and the arrow is clearly pointing up with the Bills. Someone I respect tremendously said when they hired Marrone that the Bills would get better and soon.

Of course... They need a QB. (I loathe that quitter Orton...)

Good choice.

Ugh. I guess I can take Marrone off the list.

I've been saying Caldwell since the end of the year. Arians is second.

Damn Cave man, where's the love.:noidea:

Sorry, I just watched the series finale of How I Met Your Mother and Bob Saget wasn't even in it. Kind of ruined my day and put me in a foul mood.

Well if it makes you feel any better my cat woke me up at 2:00. Turns out the living room was flooded. To top it off I have to take the damn car in at 8:00 for the recall fix and they said it will take all day. Got a feeling by 5:00 I'll either be pissed or hammered depending how close the bar is to the dealership.

I've had to deal with a flooded apartment three times in the last 5 years, every time due to the toilet overflowing. Sucks ass. I probably need to start using stool softeners or something since in addition to clogging the toilet my turds are usually really hard and cut my butthole apart when they exit causing bleeding.

Yeah, Arians.

Amazing what that team accomplished this year.
