Yes the program has been horrible, but how the hell do you actually massively regress with a 4 win team? The dude is a tool and either the defenses are horrible in the Big 12 or the coach's just flat out blow. He got outcoached in every single game. Had Paul Wulff been the coach WSU they would've won 7 games but no mister rather talks about hunting grizzly bears with his bare hands instead of learning what a off tackle play is...the guy is a fraud.

The problem is that Tuel was considered a mid round prospect before Leach arrived, but went undrafted because of the season that Leach put together for him.

Marquess Wilson was being looked at as a possible first round pick, at least a third rounder, enter Leach, he gets taken in the 7th round.

Many believed that Wulff would have led the team to a bowl game, and so that signing Leach would have been that much better. But instead the man got into pissing matches with his players, that he instigated. I'm stuck with him for the forseeable future, and for the love of my team I hope he turns it around, but I just can't see that happening.

Preseason predictions, not 20/20 after the fact observations. The point of the statement was that many pundits (and yes it was the same people who thought USC would be 13-0) had WSU anywhere from 6-6 to 8-4. For a team that was supposed to challenge for a bowl bid to roll over and die before the season even really got started is pathetic.

Going into the season, the only game I thought the Cougars had at home that was unwinnable was Oregon. So if they win the winnable home games, that's 5 wins (Eastern Washington, Colorado, California, UCLA and Washington). That means the team would only have to win 1 road game to make it to 6-6, and UNLV was an easy win preseason. Add in that there were other games going into the season that were winnable on the road (BYU, Utah, Arizona State) and it was feasible that the Cougars could have won 6-8 games with the upgrade at coach.

Instead, we go 2-4 at home, including blowing a massive lead to Colorado and nearly handing the game over to Eastern Washington. And, getting blown out against any reasonable opponent on the road (BYU 30-6; Utah 49-6; ASU 46-7).
