What don't you understand? It's Connecticut. This state has swung so far left that the pendulum is nearly at 11:30. All of the High Schools get a "Participant" trophy and they no longer have State Championships. They don't want anyone to feel less than anyone else. They don't keep scores at Varsity Athletics anymore.

When I played JV, my dad was an assistant. I remember getting chewed out by the head coach in a practice once, because he thought I missed a block. He only focused on the defense, and didn't even know our offensive plays, let alone the blocking schemes for them, or even rudementary rules for blocking when in doubt of those schemes. I was right on the assignment though, and when trying to explain to the coach why he was wrong, I may have been a little too passionate. Needless to say, I was running the rest of practice. My dad's response was simple. It didn't matter that I was right (he knew I was), you never show a coach up like that, and he wasn't about to intervene when I did that, take your medicine and next time learn to shut up and nod your head. And he was right. Sounds like if I was in this generation, the guy would have lost his job for being a big meanie.

There was a kid who played hs ball with me who use to troll the coaches and they'd make him run laps. Little did they know he had a severe meth addiction and just thought it was funny. He's still smiley, but it isn't as toothy these days.

And that's my pointless anecdote about meth and football for the year. Same time, same place...next season.
