That is a direct product of mlbs practice of giving all these guys guaranteed contracts. That is the only reason he is still on a major league team.

It is crazy that this guy will collect a check from the Orioles all the way until 2037. Baseball players are by far the most spoiled players in all the major sports leagues.

O’s fans have wanted him gone for a while but that albatross of a contract makes it extremely difficult to dump him.

It’s incredible to have a significantly negative WAR three straight seasons. The Orioles would have literally gotten more value by paying him to sit at home

They got burned twice on first basemen named Davis. Glenn was even worse because in addition to the money they paid him they gave up 3 guys who were or became really good major league players.

Actually looking at it now, that was shockingly bad. Curt Schilling, Pete Harnisch and Steve Finley put up a combined WAR of like 140 after they left the Orioles.

They would get more value for their dollar if they were paying me instead of him. I literally don’t impact the team, he brings negative value

Probably our worst trade, or one that I could think of at the moment.

Yeah that is pretty bad. I knew he underperformed what they were paying him but I didn't remember they gave up all those guys that ended up having a lot of success.

If he is a negative WAR then why doesn’t Baltimore just release him. They are going to pay him regardless.

That would be the smart thing to do

All contracts should be year to year instead of multi-year.

Schilling, Harnisch, Steve Finley. Pretty good haul for the Astros
I was thinking it was Orsulak instead of Harnisch. I knew Orsulak had left around that time as well.
