Sounding like the Walton Gang is prepared to spend the money on an experienced HC. The two we know so far who will be interviewing are Jim Harbaugh and Sean Payton. If it comes down to those two, who do you want?

I like this idea:

Mike Munchak, former Titans head coach

Munchak still lives in the Denver area after he was foolishly let go by as the Broncos’ offensive line coach by Hackett at this time last year. Munchak went 9-7 in his first year as Tennessee’s head coach in 2011 but the team’s regrettable investment in quarterback Jake Locker didn’t give Munch much chance to succeed.

Munchak then embarked on an offensive line coaching stint in Pittsburgh, where he gained the reputation as the best in the NFL. He finished second to Vic Fangio in the Broncos’ head coaching search of 2019 but Munchak stayed on as the team’s offensive line coach. Perhaps the Broncos can do it again – interview Munchak for their head coaching role but encourage the new head coach to keep him as his offensive line coach. Garett Bolles figures to be among those who would be all for it.

I have a feeling Peyton will use the Broncos to get his salary demands - with someone else.

Logical.

Not sure he’s worth the price of admission with the compensation that will be due NO.

Payton also wants to have Fangio as his DC.

So the holy trinity of No's for me.

No to the price,
No to the pick,
No to the DC.

The draft picks it would cost with Payton plus the fact that his HC career is mostly with a HOF QB makes me sour on Payton.

We have seen Harbaugh have success with less than stellar QBs.

Bottom line for me, I want to keep draft picks. We can’t afford more trades. We aren’t that close to being good.

I prefer Harbaugh simply because the price tag for Payton. The draft picks...we just don't have that right now.

I suspect the market for Payton's services will be much below the asking price.

I’m not willing to part with any draft pick over a sixth rounder for a coach who already retired once

Gotta spend money to make money and it's better to spend someone else's money to do it than yours. Take Payton, he's a proven commodity, you only need him to build a winner, not coach one

Ya, the Ryan Pace thing is out of nowhere and doesn't make much sense. I would prefer Payton to Harbaugh if we could get him for the 49ers draft pick plus cash, but not more. He has worked well with a short older accurate passer and despite this season Wilson has always been accurate and we forget he has a hall of fame resume prior to this year. I think with the right system and OL upgrades this team isn't that far off.

I read we are projected to have like 14 mm in salary cap next year? If thats the case we can’t afford to trade any raft picks.

17.5 is what I saw, but close enough. This team will likely have a significant makeover once we hire the new coaches. Id be surprised to see guys like Purcell and others come back at their existing cap number.
