NFL investigating if Patriots used deflated footballs in AFC Championship game | Fox News

This is article goes through the many "issues" the Patriots have had with cheating. I for one don't know all the details, but I can remember when many of our players and coaches made remarks of the Patriots having our plays in the 2001 super bowl.

They got popped for video taping a week 1 game vs. the Jets in 2007. Was that the only time the Patriots ever used video or was that the only time they got busted?

And who gets a $250,000 fine (Pats organization) plus Bellicheck gets a $500,000 fine, plus the team loses a 1st round draft pick - ALL OVER taping video signals during a REGULAR season game?

Then the NFL burns the Pats video tape collection.

And the NFL somehow "didn't know" about the Ray Rice elevator video tape.

As fans, what the hell are we supposed to think?

How the hell do the Pats get the deflated ball to the Colts and get it out when the Pats have the ball.

If there was 1 play or something that lead to the Pats winning I could see ..but it makes no sense with how this game went down.

Sounds like they wanted the opposite...full balls (hehe) for Indy and flattened for NE since the weather was bad.

Just a big joke and nothing much to it.

On November 27, 2010, the NFL fined the Denver Broncos and their head coach Josh McDaniels, who served as an assistant coach under Belichick from 2001–2008, $50,000 each after Broncos video director Steve Scarnecchia videotaped the San Francisco 49ers' walkthrough practice prior to the October 30, 2010 NFL International Series game in Wembley Stadium, London.[72] Scarnecchia, the son of longtime Patriots offensive line coach Dante Scarnecchia, was a video assistant for the Patriots in 2001–2004, before joining the Jets' video department for the 2006–2007 seasons.[72] As a result of the NFL's findings, Scarnecchia was fired by the Broncos, and is subject to a hearing regarding a possible ban from the NFL for twice being involved in an integrity-of-game policy violation.[72]

Yeah, too much of a blowout for that to have made much difference, IMO. Brady threw the ball 35 times, 2 more than Luck did.

SO is it the media doing this (witch hunt) or is it some sort of gamesmanship?

I don't fucking know... But it always seems to be something.

Yah, those deflated footballs definitely helped Blount run for nearly 150 yards and 3 TDs.

It is within the rules to deflate a ball to an acceptable level 12.5 psi to 14.5 psi

A team is allowed to do so during a game and is monitored by the Refs

It is next to impossible to tamper (as heard from local stations so take that for whatever it is worth)

and no one thinks that the weather could play a role in how much a ball is inflated or not? IF the Patriots did this then shame on them and they should lose draft picks and everything but it didn't make the Colts lose at all. They were gashed by Blount... Period.... Stop the run and the Colts win.

Who is responsible for supplying/monitoring the balls - The home team or the league? :noidea:

You can't pin a 45-7 blowout on the balls: NE was just plain the better team yesterday.

For anyone who didn't know, USC in college football actually did the same thing when that worm Lane Kiffin was the coach. A ball boy took the fall for the program so they escaped any significant penalties.

The refs weighed a ball early in the 3rd quarter I believe. Colts press got ahold of it. No idea WTF is going or how it applies?? Colts D couldn't stop the run.
