Charleston, South Carolina - November 20, 21, 23.
November 20th - Games and Times:
USC vs. Akron, 12:30 p.m. (ESPN3)
Drexel vs. Miami, approx. 3 p.m. (ESPNU)
Penn State vs. Charlotte, approx. 5:30 p.m. (ESPNU)
Cornell vs. South Carolina, approx. 8 p.m. (ESPN3)
Semifinals - November 21st:
USC/Akron(winner) vs. Drexel/Miami(winner) - approx 2:30 PM (ESPN2/ESPNU)
Penn State/Charlotte(winner) vs. Cornell/South Carolina(winner) 7:00 PM (ESPNU)
Championship Game - November 23rd - approx. 9:00 PM (ESPN2)
Bracket: http://espn.go.com/pdf/2014/0804/ncb_charleston.pdf
Analysis: Not the best field this tournament has produced. All eight teams failed to make the NCAA Tournament last year. Miami should be much improved this year, but the other big name programs all appear to be a year away from NCAA contention in USC, Penn State and South Carolina. All this does though is make for a wide open and interesting tournament. Best first round game appears to be Penn State vs. Charlotte. I like Akron and Miami to advance in the upper half and Charlotte and South Carolina to advance in the bottom half. I like a Miami vs. South Carolina final, with the Hurricanes bringing home the trophy.
