Interesting takes, from Baggs.

For me and my house, we'd be against it. Adjust the hitters to fit the park, not the other way round. The inability to manufacture runs is solidly on the players, the manager, and the GM. If we don't sign and develop gap hitters with speed, who can bunt or hit and run when necessary, we are not going to score runs at home. Oh, I guess we could sign Fielder and Pujols and be done with it....

Before reading this reply I have to say the Giants would have sucked this year offensively in any park...I don't think I've seen so many popups, K's and weak groundballs...

Even hard hit balls seemed to be only singles...not much power by this group to take advantage of a "friendlier hitter environment"...and this would penalize our pitching staff as well....

Agreed we should be using our park as an advantage not an excuse, the fences are fine the tactics and personnel well……….

When you're good, Pablo, Buster, Beltran you hit just fine at AT&T.

When you suck, Rowand, Cabrera, Tejada, Torres, Whiteside, you suck. AT&T didn't have that much to do with these guys sucking they just suck.

Plus we just won the fricking World Series for the first time in forever and I'm pretty goddamn sure we played at AT&T last year - remember that Baggarly for fuck sake?!!

What we need are Sanchez and Posey back and to resign Beltran and a SS. Geezus.

I like Baggarly normally, but Fucking Baggarly please. This article raises the question: Is Andrew Baggarly a dumbass?

I think this is a conversation that gets revisited regularly. Remember when the Tiggers opened Comerica, and even a guy like Bonds couldn't hit one out? The Mets are thinking the same thing. So I think Baggs is reporting it, not suggesting it. DeRosa's comments were genuine, but a little misguided. For what it's worth, Bochy's "no griping" policy seems a good one. But you might want to actually check how FA's do at AT&T before freaking signing them! (Rowand)
