It is curious. We were anointing Stevens as best coach in the game and Boston as a Finals lock. Shows how much we know. Of course it's plenty early.

I'm not surprised they are having some struggles, but I am surprised that they've struggled to the point that they have.

They are, for all intents and purposes, adding in 2 new, major pieces to their team.

This team is very different than the one that took the Cavs to 7 games in the ECF. That team had a bunch of guys who had settled into specific roles, knew their roles well and stuck to them.

Now they are trying to incorporate Hayward, who hasn't played with them at all and is obviously not all the way back from his injury...

and they are trying to re-incorporate Kyrie whose game, as @tlance has pointed out, doesn't really fit what the Celtics do best. Or at least what worked for them in the playoffs last year.

I think they will get it figured out. It's just looking like it's going to be a little tougher than many thought. Myself included.

When Lebron first went back to Cleveland everyone was talking about how Kyrie’s game might not fit Lebron and his spot up shooting but the Cavs played A LOT of iso with Lebron and Kyrie. Imo he thrives in that offense, this C’s offense is a lot different, very effective when you have guys that also fit well in the system

Still early yet but the Celtics are looking bad thus. Got to think if they don't turn it around soon some moves will have to be made.

It’s the Curse of Kelle. They never should have traded out of the 1 spot and they should have taken Fultz instead.

The East is a JOKE. Has been for 20 years since the day of MJ . We may never see a title again coming out of an east team for a decade or more.

Warriors will sweep whoever comes out of the East for a 2nd season in a row

You are aware Toronto and Milwaukee have the best two records in the NBA, right?

The schedule imbalance is insane though.

9th place team in the East would be 14th in the West.

It was better for sure. But still too much reliance on the three. they came out hot on the threes.

I miss the more physical team

I concur.

The problems the C's have been having have tied together in certain ways. Their half court defense has still been strong overall... but missed 3's and some sloppy turnovers have allowed opposing teams to get out in transition or semi-transition and attack before the C's are set...

This has led to games of runs. The C's are either shooting 3's well and going on a big run... or missing 3's and the opposition is going on a big run.

LOL.

Wiggy gave me a rainbow for this.

It was literally fact. At the time of this post, the 9th seed in the East has an 8-12 record which would be 14th place in the West behind Utah who is currently 13th and also a very good basketball team.

And yes. I believe every one of those teams is better than Brooklyn, Orlando, Washington, and possibly Charlotte and Miami too.
