exactly. he didnt have one last year. in todays nba, you cant be that guy. if truly wants to be elite (and go deep in the playoffs), he has to develop that. one trick ponies are easily figured out, especially in the postseason.

i mean, marcus smart can run into a 3 here and there and he shoots a basketball like it has corners.

Well there is a difference between "Simmons is in trouble if he doesn't develop an outside shot" and "Simmons will never become elite without an outside jump shot".

I don't think Simmons will EVER be a consistent outside shooter because that isn't his game. He just won't take enough shots to be consistent.

As currently constructed, health permitting, sounds reasonable.

Da fuq he supposed to say?

Sure, a dark horse could emerge. But, it's not like he's talking out of his ass.

Celtics, Raptors, 76ers.....in that order.....look like the cream of that conference on paper.

I would say it is pretty much a lock that the Eastern conference champ will be one of those 3 teams.

In trouble how? He didn't have one last year. He seemed to be do pretty well setting historic numbers.
A jumper is the difference between him being good and great.

With a jumper, he's LeBron.

Without a jumper, he's Chris Webber or Blake Griffin.

Unless Brook Lopez or Dwight Howard roll back the clocks a decade and play otherworldly, yep.

hes in trouble if he ever wants to move to the next level of player.

like RB's need to catch and block now, most everyone needs an outside shot.

As currently constructed and healthy.

If Kawhi is gimp, Raptors are Fucked.

Ditto for Embiid.

Boston is the only team that could lose one of their top 2 guys and still make the Finals....imo

I didn’t read the article so I could be wrong but it seems like a good portion of these types of comments are set up by a reporter asking a one-way question designed to get responses like this.

Went 7 games against the 7 seed, beat a green team in 5 and lost to a team that got swept in the finals by the Warriors.

The legend of that Celtics team has become so much greater than the actual team.

Turner could take it to the next level....Tyreke Evans was a great get.....Oladip is an all star

not a good chance- but i wouldnt say they have NO chance.

I guess I could put a 5% chance for the field.

they won 55 games with no hayward and 2/3 of kyrie. the C's are 2-2 vs the warriors over the last 2 years too.

2-0 in GS. 0-2 at home (one a 2 OT loss) how many teams can boast 2-0 in GS?

So how many more games do you think the Celtics win this season with Hayward and Kyrie?

They did all that without arguably their 2 best players.

I know... you're not impressed. :noidea:

They had a great playoff run. Everything was bouncing their way and they wound up winning.

The Celtics have a very good team.

Let me ask you this. If Kyrie and Hayward were to get early in the season for the year, do you think the Celtics would once again go to game 7 in the ECF?

^ Not following this... rephrase?

Sorry. If the Celtics were to lose both of them for the year again. Would they go back to the ECF?

This upcoming season, I'd say most probably not... both Toronto and Philly project to be better than they were last year, to say nothing of Indiana and Milwaukee.

C's are probably going to need all hands on deck.

But... it's possible. They almost certainly wouldn't get to the Finals, though.

Fair enough.

It's going to be a fun season.
