I'm going to be 61 in Sept.

I can safely say I've never had to or will have to go to fight for anything.

But somebody had to sometime.

And I'm thankful for them to have done so.

Shoved a kid in school once and tore a chew toy away from a dog. I'm definitely battle hardened but I like to keep a low profile.

I'm glad for all servicemen. No matter what nation.

It comes to you when you have a Military background in your family

I can't put into words how thankful I am for the brave men and women who served, have served and continue to serve! My father and uncle were in Vietnam and they won't talk about it since they were the first to land and the things they have seen can never been unseen and the pain they must still go through to this day is unimaginable!
We really have to do more for servicemen and women but we don't.

THANK YOU! I AM HONORED TO KNOW BECAUSE OF YOU ALL I AM HERE TODAY!

Yes the men and women from the Canadian, British, and Australian military deserve our thanks too. I have met quite a few on Nellis, and they joined to protect their nations same as we do.

Thanks Dad! WW2 Navy. Phillipines, Zamboanga.
Father in Law Paul. WW2 Marines, Philipines.
Brother Mike, Vietnam Navy.
Brother Dennis, Vietnam Army. Led convoys using a 60 cal. machine gun shooting into the jungle from the front Jeep.
Uncle Doyle, ASAF Full Colonel, MAC Commander.
Uncle Don, Korea Army.
Uncle Carroll-the one with the ladies name, a real tough guy. Original landing party at Iwo Jima. I forget either 1st Marines or 5th Marines. Lost 80% of his company in 72 hours. Not a scratch on my uncle, the machine gunner.

I Ran many OPS, with Canadian Airdales in the 70's. 2 of them were stationed in our squadron in some kind of an exchange with us sending some guys their way as well. Man, those boys could party. Also, ran a few missions with the Norwegians. Also, great guys.

I served for 5 years in the Air Force, including a fun little six month field trip with the 56 MCT (got JET tasked, so went with an Army battalion, they needed warm bodies). Only went over that one time and came back only a little worse for wear. Volunteered for the draw down and got out a year early. I was pretty damn lucky.

My father, on the other hand, is STILL in the military (has been for 30 years now), and I cannot even count the number of times he has been deployed (seriously, I don't think I could give an accurate number). He has seen some real shit, won multiple bronze stars and has saved many lives. He is a real badass, and I cannot express how proud I am of him.
