Well now that it's under 8 hours to go I figured it wasn't outragously early to make the GNT I think the game being at night will be pretty cool, but we shall see

Well, Staal is in, and some twitter rumor says Craig Adams will sit after suffering a hand injury this morning. Ugh. No penalties and we'll be fine. Not sure if I'm more excited for Staal to play or worried

He's the third best player on the team. If Staal is healthy he has to play. Besides with Staal playing it should open things up at least a little bit for Crosby & Malkin.

I would take Staal anyday. Even if he has sat out for a while with an injury.

All I can think of is him hitting a rut and tearing an ACL or something nuts. It's more because I know he's not in top shape yet, and the ice condition won't be very good, etc. I just don't want him catching another bad break, he's had enough for a few seasons now.

Last year the forecast was rain for Fenway. They wouldve pushed it to the 2nd, not to 8 pm.

But they put a Caps symbol on a Terrible Towel...that's testy. Anyway, wanna bring up a subject that's been discussed on radio/media a bunch around here: Who does it matter more to? Not the players per say, because it matters no matter what the game to them, but to the franchises/fanbases/groups as a whole? I really feel like it holds more water for the Caps. I'm not throwing this out there as a pre-game, pre-written excuse, but as an opinion. This is the 2nd Classic for the Pens, the first of which we won, and we've "proven" ourselves against the Caps when "it counts", but the Caps still have something to prove to the critics, the opposition and their fans. I just think it's interesting to think how this could effect each team individually. Mentally, it could be a big thing for both teams. Sometimes, especially when watching 24/7, I get the feeling that the Caps are more emotionally fragile. Luckily for them they have guys like Knuble to keep their heads on, because while OV is a great example leader, he does get frustrated (dare I say a Russian thing? *looking at YOU Geno*) when things don't go his way. Anyway, off track a bit there. But for some reason, even though I know this game is still only 2 points, I feel like it could be a big turning point no matter which way it goes. And for some reason I feel like the outcome has a bigger impact on the Caps. Just a gut feeling.
