Ok gurus, what are we looking at for next year concerning money? And are there any notable FA’s we should target?

Right now the Broncos have a little less than $2 million they can carry over. In 2025 they are sitting at an estimated $57 million in cap space. Now have to think about $10 million of that is earmarked for emergencies and the draft class. So probably something in the neighborhood of $45 million in spendable money.

A few of their own guys they will have to make decisions on are DJ Jones, The back up QB's, Tremon Smith (underrated special teams guy), Riley Dixon, Cody Barton/Justin Strnad (probably only bring one of them back), Michael Burton for FB, Quinn Bailey missed all this season but was considered a nice piece of the puzzle for the OL. Then you have the ERFA and RFA guys like Mitchell Fraboni for LS, Lucas Krull, Jordan Jackson, Devon Key, Deondrea Tillman, Ja'Quan McMillian.

So probably once you make all of those decisions you are probably looking at closer to $25 million in spendable cap money.

My guess is we bring in a veteran CB. Maybe Byron Murphy since he has worked with Vance Joseph before. Then again he might be looking for starter money and the Broncos might be looking more for a depth guy.

I would also add back to the DL especially if you let DJ Jones walk. I know they like their young guys but if you do not take one in the 1st round of the draft that position could get thin in a hurry.

TE is another position I"m sure they will look pretty hard at. Not many big names hitting the market as of this time but cuts will still need to happen. Tyler Conklin and Austin Hooper make some since as they have that inline ability we are missing.

Stop with the 100M nonsense. We still have Russ's large dead cap next year which is around $30M. We will still have $60Mish in cap space which is upper middle of the league. Better than -$78M in New Orleans, which is my biggest concern with Payton in his GMish role.

The reality is the Broncos could spend as much as they possibly want. With owners as rich as ours they can make these contracts work well. It isn't the smart move to do as I think they have a very solid foundation of great players at this time, but a few moves to add to the depth would be good. Have to also think Broncos could be handing Bonitto one of the largest defensive contracts in NFL history soon. The guy is 3rd in DPOY odds right behind Surtain so if he continues on this tear it might be a good idea for the Broncos to get him locked up sooner than later.

Well to get Russ on a team next year will cost bucks . Meaning we are now off the hook on his salary.

Cecil likes to speak in exaggerated terms some times. Workable cap space wise the Broncos are nowhere near $100 million. Cash in hand wise yes the Broncos could technically spend that kind of money with making 1st year cap hits very little for anyone they sign with bigger hits down the road. Kind of like they did with the Bolles contract. You can only do that so much though before you really start hurting the overall roster.

Broncos would be smart to sign depth pieces in FA to help add to the overall roster and improve our 23-53 players on the roster. If you could add maybe 4-5 players that you could trust to start if needed, but not go after the top tier FA's I think that would be a good offseason. Then be able to go into the draft mostly looking for DL, RB, TE, and developmental pieces at a couple of other positions.
