Going off Twitter, looks like it's 2-0 Nucks in the 3rd, with goals from Burr and Hank.

no finer example of men against boys than last night

and then theres this ... lol at AV's close-up reaction at 50 seconds ... 'FUCK ME" ... and btw ... why let a ref, call the same team 2 nights in a row? ... I know good ole ronnie mclean would be upset with anyone thinking refs arent seated at the right hand of god the father almighty with regards to their impartiality but Im thinking the "ill show this fucker mentality" might come into play for some surly refs in back to back games

When the game was over, several Canucks said: "Are you going to write about that penalty shot?"

Of course we are because it's not often we see one called when a forward is trying to score by going around the dot. That's what happened Sunday when Magnus Paajarvi got by Andrew Alberts, around the faceoff circle.

The Canucks defenceman lunged backward in an attempt to swat the puck away or knock Paajarvi's stick, as the Oiler forward took a sharp angle toward the net. Alberts' stick tripped Paajarvi, who still got both a shot on net and a penalty shot, thanks to referee Brad Meier. He's the same ref who just happened to let a similar play go Saturday night when it was Ryan Kesler in the Paajarvi role.

"I asked Brad what was the difference between (Paajarvi) and Kes on Saturday and he said 'it's way different,'" Vigneault said. "I'll have to look at it again."

Lucky for the Canucks, Roberto Luongo was in net. He's stopped 16 of 18 penalty shots. If you can make any sense of why he's so much better on penalty shots than he is in the shootout, send the Canucks a note

I see Marc Crawford was fined $10,000 for his post-game rant regarding the missed call on Seabrook throwing his stick in the final minute. Why does the NHL have so much difficulty admitting that officials make mistakes?

By the way, that's a joke of a call, the player needs to be fully clear of a defender in order for a penalty shot to be awarded. Was it a penalty, yes no doubt, but no way should a penalty shot have been awarded.

its amazing a coach can get such a huge fine for words when a player gets a small fine for a dangerous cross check. (Semin)

I guess talking bad about the refs is way worse than someone getting their head taken off even though the refs deserved it.

funny league

funny that Luongo has been so... umm... let's say 'vulnerable' in shootouts,
yet he has stopped 16 of 18 career penalty shots.

no time to think. as a goalie I prefer breakaways there is zero time to think and you just rely so much on instinct. I stopped 4 breakaways last night in teh second period alone (dont get me fucking started on those turnovers) but I just felt so calm and confident as I just didnt have time to think about what he will do or I will do its last second heroics.

Im probably 50/50 in shootouts.
