O'brien, Bieksa and Schneider all sucked tonight(why didn't they pull Schneider?).....Mo looked ok again, but where does he fit on the team... Hodgson was ok but I expected a bit more after all the hype....Sweatt and Sweatt showed not much... Kes and MaRay looked ok... Raffi was ok too, but he and Manny need to pick it up a bit...Oil have a lot of speed... might do ok this year...

Hodgson was ok but I expected a bit more after all the hype.

Id give him more than one pre season game before I expect more from him. rusty for sure but I think we will see more from him as he gets the final few pre season games at least I hope he gets those

Yeah.. see how he reacts, but it certailnly didn't enhance his possible value in a future trade... and it won'y help his confidence to be blown out by half an NHL oiler team, expected to be not a playoff team. B/U was Tyler Weiman.... might have been nice to put him in and spare Cory's ego... But all that said, the D was terrible last night.

@ matty.... yeah, give him another game or two for sure before we criticize, but after all the "I feel great out theres" and "he looks good out theres" I just expected a bit more is all. I am not dumping on him in the least. Good prospect, expect great things from him in the future.

@ jstew.... Not sure I would have done that, but Weiman is slated to be B/U in Manitiba this year, why not throw him in when it is 5-2 or so... It was obvious that Schneider wasn't having an "on" night

Im actually thinking its good to let him take 8 on the chin. We need to know his mental stability as well and I think 8 goals from a minor league team on him will test that. He is done in the AHL and will need to learn to get thick in the skin in the NHL. this was a start. I remember when we had him in for 5 against the Sharks a couple years back. Ill never forget the look on his face as the Sharks kept pumping him for goals. it was one of those "Fuck what am I doing here looks"

I never want to see that again in a prospect like this if we are to ever trade him for anything of value.

well, he certainly got his boot in the ass last night. Hopefully you are right in that it will make him stronger. As long as he doesn't end up a Martin Brochu, great in the AHL but can't make it in the bigs

yeah I have had that worry as well. but then I remember the 2-1 loss to Dallas a couple years back as well. he was lights out NHL that night. I think with a consistent NHL start and coaching he will be a NHL goalie. he like Hodgson just need that chance now

They both have huge potential.... at this point, though, that is all it is, potential. Let's hope they both can fulfill our hopes for them.
