Can the future CFP teams be accurately predicted on NSDs?

Glad you put "necessarily" in there. If stars didn't matter, why are the ones with more stars by their names more coveted than those with less stars?

Of course they are more coveted, but many times a walk on will come along and blow them away. Sometimes potential talent slips thru the cracks. That's all.

Many times? Depends on the definition of "many times". There are definitely examples of walk ons,/2* guys that "slip thru the cracks" and ended up with stellar careers...both college and pro. (Those that fall through the cracks are the only chances my school has at getting a real good one.) But, the number of those that make it pales in comparision to the number of 5*s that end up with stellar careers. In fact, I'd guess the number of walk ons/2*s that blow people away is similar to the number of 5*s that flame out. More rare than many.

Whatever. You must be very disturbed about recruiting today. It is key to success, but not everything. :thumb:

Held 5 touchdowns below season average, lost by 17, was manhandled up front, Browning was ineffective, punter was the MVP, scored on the second drive and didn’t score again all game, trailed by double digits for 35 minutes with no concern of a comeback. So to reiterate, yes blasted.

It was 17 - 7 Bama with eleven minutes remaining in the 4th qtr when Bama broke a 70 yard run for a TD. That's not a blowout. 38 - 0 over MSU is a blowout. Clemson over OSU by a score of 31 - 0 is a blowout or what Oregon did to FSU is a blowout.

Final score was 24-7, so at no point did Washington have 10. Also, by your sentiment, LSU vs Bama in the 2012 National Title was a close game because it was within 2 posessions until the last like 5 minutes of the game.

My bad ... 7 not 10. Fact remains that game was not a blowout by anyone's standards who's ever watched a football game.

When your team is held to 35 fewer points than your season average, and you are not competitive in an entire half of play, it is domination. Period.

Domination does not = blowout.
At no point did I say blowout, I did use a synonym for domination by saying they were blasted. And I stand by that statement because it is so clearly true.

You have to admit this is an impressive rating spread:

National Signing Day certainly is important, be interesting to see if Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State and LSU are the cfp teams next yr.

Hell, as I Miner football fan, I'm distrubed EVERY day...not just NSD. Especially lately. We've sucked worse than normal.

But, I agree recruiting isn't everything. Still have to develop it and coach 'em up.

On the other hand it doesn't look like we will see teams ranked above 30th in recruiting rankings play for the natty...no matter how good their coaching is. But, I've been wrong before and I hope they prove me wrong again! Maybe recruiting ranked teams like Indiana (currently 38th) and Virginia (currently 39th) play for the title sometime before I die. But, they better hurry. It ain't looking likely at my age.

I'm gonna bet my vcash that three of the four will be...as long as I don't have to pick which three.
