Can the Bills finish with an 8-8 record this year, or better?

Do we have enough talent and a solid coaching staff to go 8-8 this season or better? This would really be a step in the right direction of the Bills becoming relevant again, what are your thoughts?

I dont think so defense is still bad Oline has gotten worst and it takes some time at the beginning of the season to get totally accustomed to a new coaching staff. Add in the tough schedule and your probably looking at about 5 wins

No way they get 8 wins. The team is still bad. The coaching hires were nearly all highly questionable, the QB situation is dubious, the O-line likley declines, they still do not appear to have a 2nd WR threat, etc etc. The Defense pretty much has to be better, but compared to last year, that's a low standard. Their only hope is the AFC East has a really bum year where the Pats collapse, the Jets suck, and Dolphins fall flat...all possible, but all 3 at once...not likely.

Do not appear to have a 2nd WR threat? Robert Woods is an instant starter. If there is one position that improved vastly in talent this year, its WR. Adding Woods, Goodwin, Rodgers, and potentially Kaufman (if he sticks) is a nice influx of talent.

The new offensive system is definitely going to take some time to get comfortable with. The defense is still a work in process, and another new system isn't going to fix that right away. 6 or 7 wins maybe?

The talent at the wide receiver position has gotten immensely better than it was last year.

Stevie Johnson is the only truly experience threat we have in the passing game, so we can't expect too much from it this year.

Agree Robert Woods is an instant starter on the Bills. Joe Jurevicious would be too. That really doesn't say much.

For a team known for mastering the art of drafting busts, I'll wait until I see some actual results on the field before I get excited about any of these young guys. I heard the same stuff about the WR from LSU we had a few years back and I can't even remember his name right now.

Two of the guys the Bills brought in have been on the NFL radar for a while. Robert Woods has been an NFL player since he set foot on the USC campus. Da'Rick Rodgers would've been a 1st or 2nd rounder if not for his "personality" issues. Goodwin is an Olympic sprinter, but whether that equates to NFL success has been hit or miss for other such athletes. Kaufman is a bit more of a work in progress, could've been a late round pick but slipped to UDFA. Remember, Stevie was only a 6th rounder.

Lots of good things about Goodwin so far in practice though

I'm interested to see these guys in our preseason game

I am not liking our LB situation. What I've seen of Kiko Alonso so far is not what I expected. He seems to wait for the ball carrier, rather than attack. I don't see our run defense being any better. 8-8? I highly doubt it, and even if we got there, it's not playoffs, it's not anything other than better than 7-9.

E.J. (minus the "minor" injury) and Woods look good. Goodwin should be exciting on special teams. Kevin Kolb is absolutely terrible, reminds me of Losman.... without the arm. We should have pulled a Redskins' and taken Nassib in the 3rd. At least the unknown is better than the utter embarrassment of a QB not knowing what the hell is going on when he drops back, and all he sees is the pass rush.

I agree our defense was not very good to begin with and now our best defender is down. We wont be able to stop anyone. It will be like last year where we just kept trying to air it out and hopefully we would score last.
