The King is gone and the throne in the East is vacant. Will Philly, Boston or Toronto step up to claim their stake? Meanwhile, in the West, the defending champs are hungrier than ever to three-peat and to cement themselves as the best team ever assembled.

Can anyone DETHRONE the Golden State Warriors?

Hard to tell. Last night we got the same sloppy, lackadaisical effort that we've come to expect from the Warriors in the regular season but if they are healthy and can turn it on again at playoff time they will be tough to beat.

Are they? If that's true, then I don't think anyone's beating them. That and health are probably the only things that could threaten the 3peat.

Golden State is the clear favorite.

Boston has the best shot to challenge them. Theoretically, Boston has the defense and versatility to make it a series.

Celtics and Raptors pose real serious threats to the Warriors. I don't include the 76ers because they just don't have the experience yet to take it to that next level, IMO.

Celtics and Raptors both have teams with deep benches and have long athletic wings who can defend on the perimeter. This has traditionally given the Warriors a lot of problems.

Everyone says this season is a lock because of Boogie, but honestly it causes a few question marks as to what lineups will be out there at the end of games in crunch time. The last few years Draymond has been extremely effective at the center position. Andre Iguodala has been a lockdown defender and has allowed the Warriors to go small. The question will be what they do in certain situations. Do they play Boogie for more offensive firepower? Or do they go small and play Iguodala for more versatility and defense?

The last thing is that the Warriors bench is thin again this year. It'll be mix and match all year long as to who gets playing time and what lineups Kerr puts out. Last night he put out a lineup of Quinn Cook, Klay Thompson, Shaun Livingston, Jonas Jerebko and Jordan Bell. WTF.

I hate the Warriors bench too, TBH. Really thin, especially at the Wing spots. I have no idea who's going to score on that second unit. Really just hoping for a healthy Boogie now.

But @WiggyRuss that trash can Looney had a 10 pts, 10 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks and 1 steal in 18 minutes yesterday. Oh and he also held Paul George to a 24 second shot clock violation while guarding him on the perimeter. Still can't believe nobody gave him an offer. LOL NBA GM's.

he mustve had his Duke Nuke'em Cloaking Device on.

either that- or like i said- nobody pays attention since there are 4 top 15 players in the NBA on the floor, lol.

I could get double digit rebounds playing with Dray, Klay, KD and Curry

The "JaVale McGee" effect will be clear soon- TRUST ME. LeBron used to get pissed off at KYRIE IRVING doing stupid things. I cant wait.

If I am the Celtics I offer THE HOUSE for Anthony Davis at the trade deadline.

Jaylen Brown, Terry Rozier, multiple multiple picks, etc...

Or how about this Philly trade:

Philly Trades:
Markelle Fultz
Dario Saric
Wilson Chandler (12M Expiring)
Kings 1st RD Pick (VERY high chance of being #1 overall)
Philly 1st RD Pick 2019
Philly 1st RD Pick 2021
Chicago 2019 2nd RD Pick
Dallas 2020 2nd RD Pick

for Anthony Davis

The Pelicans can essentially start over. They would have a back court of Fultz and Holiday, two combo guards. They'd have a starting PF and could let Mirotic walk. Chandler is an expiring which creates additional cap room. Then they have 4 picks, including what could be the #1 overall next year to start over. The year after Solomon Hill's terrible deal is off the table and they'll have a ton of cap space.

They'd have a core of Holiday, Fultz, Saric, Kings #1, 2 Philly 1st Picks, 2 high 2nd RD picks and a shit ton of cap space.

Those two aren't nearly good enough to pull AD, even with picks. Who are the top guys in this year's draft that those picks could net? Nobody near an AD type. Pelicans just said there was nobody in the league they would trade AD for. If you want him, you have to wait for free agency.

I wouldn't. Gotta be a superstar level talent somewhere in that mix to pull the trigger, and I don't see anything close. I don't see anyone in this draft with potential near an AD.

McGee is about to have a career year.
