Not sure if it's valid but I saw something recently that Wentz and Ertz could be a package deal in a Wentz trade?
that may be true. Ertz is a big cap hit

So 23.5 per year and you can cut him after the second year? If he starts for a team that's actually pretty cheap, puts him in Bridgewater/ Alex Smith pay area. Brissett made 21 million 2020.Wentz is due $25.4M for 2021 and $22M for 2022. $15M of the 2022 money will become guaranteed on Week 1 of the 2021 season so realistically any team acquiring him is looking at $47.4M over 2 years. The money shown as an option bonus by Spotrac is a $30M signing bonus paid by the Eagles last year. The Eagles are accounted for that at $6M per year under the cap. That 'option' cap cost will stay with the Eagles regardless of what happens with Wentz.
Personally I don't think Wentz would currently be worth $47M over 2 years as a FA. If I was a team acquiring Wentz contract I would want compensation from the Eagles for doing so. I still believe Goff at $53M for 2 years is a contract with a higher upside and a higher floor than Wentz currently provides. Even if the Eagles were to pay the 1st $10M of Wentz deal, (due March 19 2021), I would still be leery of acquiring Wentz.

Indy waiting for the clearance rack.
Colts Interested In Trading For Carson Wentz, But Not Willing To Pay Eagles' Initial Asking Price
According to Stephen Holder, the Colts are definitely interested in potentially acquiring Eagles QB Carson Wentz in a trade. However, Holder notes Indianapolis is not willing to pay the Eagles' initial asking price of twonfltraderumors.co
Bears promoted Wentz's former Qb coach in 2017
Lol. You and Shark might be the worst 2 cap and salary analysts on this forum. So 23.5 per year and you can cut him after the second year? If he starts for a team that's actually pretty cheap, puts him in Bridgewater/ Alex Smith pay area. Brissett made 21 million 2020.
He was paid $30M over 2 years. That $30M was actually split $13M & $17M. For cap purposes the team CHOSE to account for it as $9M and $21M. That doesn't mean he was paid $9M and $21M. He isn't and wasn't a $21M QB. He was a $30M/2 QB, or a $15M per year QB, (if you want to split it evenly as you did with Wentz). He wasn't? I go by over the cap and here is what they have:

Looks to me they claim Brissett cap hit for 2020 was 21 million. Which is what I said.
His cap hit was 21 million for 2020 and they could of cut him and saved 14 million because there was only 7 million left guaranteed. The rest doesn't matter it's just you going blab blab blab blab. OK we done here? I guess it's a mistake to average Wentz cap hit. So 25.4 for 2021 and 22 million for 2022. Still fairly cheap for a starting QB that isn't a rookie.
In 2019 Russell Wilson signed a $107M/3 year contract. The actual splits are $70M*, $18M, & $19M. Describing Wilson as either a $70M QB or a $19M QB would be wrong.
* Technically $35M of the signing bonus wasn't paid until 2020 but for cap purposes it counted as a 2019 signing bonus.
A cap figure is NOT a true reflection of what a player is being paid. Drew Brees is not playing for $1M, (or $12.5M), in 2021. He signed the $1M deal so $11.5M of the remaining $23M of dead money on his contract can be delayed until 2022 for cap purposes.
If you're just going to post crap then at least be consistent. Wentz has cap numbers of $34.67M and $31.27M for the next 2 years. If you're going to use your 'box of rocks' thinking he's a $65.94M QB for 2 years rather than a $47.4M QB. Don't cherry pick your numbers. He's NOT a $65.94M QB but hey, blab, blab, blab right? His cap hit was 21 million for 2020 and they could of cut him and saved 14 million because there was only 7 million left guaranteed. The rest doesn't matter it's just you going blab blab blab blab. OK we done here?
So Wentz is staying in Philly? Where's Hurts going?Wentz will make a great backup for Foles
