A lot of people aren't great with travel plans. Sometimes they forget to do the check in and seat selection 24 hours before and end up with whatever seat is left when they get to the gate. Or his assistant is in trouble for mucking this up. He also could have been sitting next to a real fatty and the guy was like "Sit next to that behemoth for 10 hours? No fucking way! Not for 15 grand"
Yeah, but 1.5 grand? Cheapskate.

Having recently made that flight, there's no way I would fly coach with Cam's bank account. On the flip, I think I would've negotiated for $2k and flown for free.
Who pays $2k for a flight to Paris? Let alone $1500?

Depends on when you buy and when you travel of course, non-stop, where your seat is, etc. but it's pretty comfortable to spend about $1200 to $1500 to Paris.

I'm 6'3" myself, plus I've already spent the money on the tkt so to give up that comfy seat to cram into a normal seat, for an 8 hr flight I would want more than $1500.

I don't even know how to describe this outfit. I think the best place for Cam may just be Paris. He should have stayed

I'm pretty flexible on dates... The last deal I saw was under $400, but didn't include bags.

So, say $500.

My flight to Belgium is probably going to be about 2 months purchase. It should be less than $500...just waiting for it to hit.

It's nice to be flexible or pay early....$500 RT across the big pond is a steal in any language.

We're starting to look at a London/Rome/Barcelona trip for June '20 and hope to snag a pair of tix around December...so far $2600 ea RT is the best I've found including the inter-Euro flights and hotels which I thought was okay.

Regardless...once over there, our dollar takes such a beating that saving as much as possible on the travel part of it only makes good sense.

Open Jaws are a little more difficult to work with and find the best deals.

You spend $1,500 RT or one way? This was one way and I don't think it was BC, I think it was only an extra leg room seat. How much more could that have cost? For that I likely take the $1,500. Plus he'd be awake listening to my GF talking the whole way home while I'd sleep soundly back a few rows :D

RT...no it was likely an exit row seat or something which I've asked for many times...Whenever I have a regular cabin seat, it sucks for me and the person in front of me, because they can't recline...my knees are in the way...so for me to swap even for one way I'd want more than $1500 on an 8 hr flight...especially knowing that's only like $10 to him.

I love Europe (especially Italy and Germany) but $1500+ just for flights is a little steep (depending on the season). I was routinely flying to Thailand anywhere from $800-$1300 depending on the time of year. Approximately 15.5 to 17 flying hours depending on the trade winds. Delta from Seattle with a 2 hour layover in either Inchon or Tokyo. That's an economy fare. Granted I had Diamond level status so I would automatically get bumped up to economy +, and no charge for up to three pieces of luggage. Plus the $ is still strong here in most SEA countries. Let your money work for you.

I would've countered with $5000.
