Cam Newton, Most Overrated QB Ever?

Joe Namath was probably not even as good as Tebow but as far as sheer overrated-ness goes, Brett Favre has no close second. The hype was beyond belief and Madden was the worst ever.

Favre was slightly above average with a big arm and longevity. He would not be dreamed of being mentioned as a hall of famer if he didn't play for 20 years.

I'd say that's a fair assessment but would prefer a little more hate when referencing Favre.

I loved madden as a commentator. Sucking up to a few guys aside, he knew the game, he knew what he was talking about, and he wasn't like 3/4 of the guys today where I feel like I could bring more knowledge to the table.

as a coach yes.. madden knew his stuff.. when it came to color commentary he was severly lacking.. but thats my opinion

Interesting. Stafford still has a lot to prove, but with him, I pray for an extra half-second. If Cam were the Lions QB, I'd be praying for a career ending injury.

I don't think stafford or flacco belong on that list. Flacco's not elite, but he's close. The ravens overpaid him but they had to. Stafford is somewhere between 6-10 and is treated as such.

As someone who's seen Eli torch my team when it's had excellent defenses, I have to completely disagree with that assesment. I would love to have Eli in a big game.

Cam, on the other hand, has a ton left to prove.
