Oh please, its a good ole boy system with those clowns. Of course they're gonna say that. If it wasn't for his size we wouldn't be having this conversation.

It is a good ole boys thing.

Not sure if you remember a LB named Zack Thomas from Miami. That guy was a beast and didn't get in. 5 all pro and 2 second team all pro and didn't get in.

Calvin would have dropped the 2 TDs Goll caught. It was crunch time.

Good point, I was looking at a guy like Hines Ward who statistically has better numbers in every receiving category. Plus he's a 2x SB winner, SB MVP, 4x pro bowl. Shouldn't he be in before CJ?

:spit:This discussion just went off the rails. Barely 6 tds a year and 50 yards per game against single coverage and you want him in the HOF. This guy was the epitome of average.

No one of the biggest factors they look at look at when they vote on the HOF was the player one of the top few at his position for any part of his career. Calvin has 3 seasons where he was the best or 2nd best receiver in the league statistically. Hines doesn't even have a top 5 season. Its the reason a guy like Terrell Davis or Gayle Sayers got in they were the best even if only for a short time.

I don't put much weight on SB wins, unless it is a QB. A player is drafted by a team and usually doesn't have much say in player personnel. If Calvin was drafted by the Steelers or Pats somehow, he would have rings as well.

Prolly not a high character guy by Jim's standards. He woulda never drafted him.

You're right, not a Caldwell type guy. He likes to inflict too much pain.

I seriously loved watching him play football. He is a HOFer imo. Stats are so overrated.

He's just crabby because the Lions have made the playoffs every year since he retired.

Don't forget we are in the midst of an undefeated season as well.

No wonder that dude was all chill and relaxed. No killer instinct at all, zapped away from hippie flowers.

Maybe he and Titus Young will finally get along now.
