The Bengals have decided to go young at LB so RM out. A couple of other younger backers on the roster the Bengals want to see on the field more. Perhaps an offer of a 4th this year and a conditional 5th next year for Burdick?

I'm ok with trading picks in the 4-7th but I don't see where burfict fits. I don't believe he can play ILB

Just looking for ways to improve the defense. We can't expect rounds 4-7 to have an immediate impact so "if" we hit on rounds 1-3, I'm guessing 2 of them are defensive picks and 1 on offense. That gives us a possible DL, C, ILB starters and likely a RB. Inserting Burfict as one of the ILB's certainly fills a need and certainly better than any 4th rounder this year or 5th next year. Insert Reddick next to Burfict this year, a possible 3rd round DL into the mix this year with Cravens and Swearinger at safety and we will have immediately improved up the middle.

My immediate thought while reading this post was......why can't we do that? ( have younger promising guys ready to start or seriously pushing our starters for playing time)
