Finally a game that counts in the standings!

Hockey season helps me cope with the knowledge that we'll be looking at bare branches
on the trees soon. I've never liked that!

Has anyone here seen our new backup goalie, Chad Johnson play? I haven't and know very nearly
nothing about him. I suspect my Alaska-born co-tenant friend will become a fan of his, since he played at the University of Alaska for 2 years, after 2 years at U. of Alaska, Fairbanks, but even that is no more than speculation.

I thought Chad Johnson was good in the AHL. Always played for teams deep at the goalie position so he never got a chance in the NHL. I think he could be decent as a NHL goalie.

I hope you're right. I've never watched him at all, and don't recall ever having heard of him either. Until today, that is.

Getting an early lead is something I hope the Bruins do more often this year than they have in recent seasons.

Increasing those leads quickly is another thing I'd like to see.

We may have gotten out-shot, but we won the more important giveaway-takeaway battle and thus got the better scoring chances.

And we never trailed once!

Hopefully that will clue some people in on what's more valuable.

Chris Kelly is such a good all around player. We have no superstars, but we have quite a few great 2-way players.

I consider Bergeron & Chara superstars; however, I'll take 4 solid lines across the board than having to depend on jacked up 2 line-only teams (i.e. Pens, Crapitals, Lightning, Flyers). Our guys are solid on all 4 lines and that goes a longggg way in making a deep run for the Cup. That, IMO, is why we have been such a great team over the last 4-5 yrs since Julien signed on. I've had my many beefs over the years with Julien that I posted 100s of times of that other board NYSPN ... ooops, I mean ESPN, but overall CJ puts solid lines together that can toe-to-toe with any team in the league.

I thought Caron played super tonite and it was nice to Iggy drop them gloves and get the Boston faithful on his side. I didnt think he'd be well-received after that Pens trade debacle last year, but if he plays solid like he did tonite, it should all just be water under the bridge. Tuukka was tough in net tonite, also ... let's keep that up with Detroit coming to town Saturday. My God ... I just despise the dead wings and I hated to see them join the EC and get put into our already murderous division.

I think it's great having four of the original 6 teams in one division. Atlantic division is going to be jam packed with great friggin' games.

And yes, I consider Bergy and Chara to be I guess "under the radar" superstars. I was more or less talking like Crosby/OV/Stamkos flare. And yes, I also agree that I'd take our approach over just loading up a couple lines any day.

... also, adding Eriksson to our team was like adding another Bergy. I have a good feeling about this team.
