Game Thread: Bruins At Wrong Islanders, 7:00 PM ET, January 27, 2014

Before getting around to the game I'd like to try to clear up a mis-impression some posters here have about me.

I don't like fighting but have no objection to physical hockey, the dishing out and absorption (when needed) of solid checks.

Those ARE part of hockey. Fisticuffs are, frequently, an unsportsmanlike reaction to good checks.

If refs fail to penalize what you believe was not a clean check keep playing hockey rather than being the 1st to drop the gloves. The refs will be right most of the time. Not all, but most.

My Bruins come in with 67 points in 50 games 1.34/game. 7 points behind Pittsburgh in the conference with 2 games in hand on them.

The Wrong Islanders have only 50 points in 54 games, and a -25 differential to the Bruins' +32.

If the Bs play CLEAN hockey and let the New Dorkers be the instigators of any fights they should win.

I'm more vociferous than most about my dislike of on ice fights, but if I were as timid as you imply I am
I wouldn't be mentioning them so often.

The posters who agree with me but keep silent about it are the ones who should be embarrassed.

Again, hard clean checks I have no problem with. Fights are another matter.
