His name has been thrown around for years as a potential head coach. It will be interesting to see how he does

Good move.

Poor Bears.

They had a killer defense worthy of Super Bowl, but ran into the buzzsaw Eagles.

And now the coordinator is gone.

Happy for Fangio. A great defensive coach. He did alot for the 49ers defense. I was pissed when they passed him over for Tomsula. Fangio fielded a top 5 defense in 2014 even with a decimated roster. And with his years in the league and contacts he shouldn't have any problem finding assistants for his staff. The one negative on Fangio and one reason he was passed over in the past was his abrasive personality. Thought was he would rub people the wrong way. But overall I am glad he is finally getting his chance and as a defensive coordinator light years better than Vance Joseph. His most important decision will be where he goes with his offensive staff

My understanding is he would've stayed with 9ers if they went with an offensive HC, but getting passed up by Tomsula pissed him off so he left

Only good thing John Fox did for bears was hire Fangio

Yes, You are right. The final two were Tomsula and Gase. Fangio stated he would have stayed if Gase was hired as HC and Gase wanted it. Not a big Gase fan but clearly was the better of the two.

I'm just saying you missed your best chance.
That's all.

Hopefully Nagy replaces him well.

I think there's enough talent there to bridge whatever gap there may between Vic and the next guy. Wouldn't surprise if they promoted from within to try to keep things as seamless as possible.

Best of luck Vic, thank you for the kickass defense. Hope the new guy comes in keeps the ball rolling.

Should try to.

What kind of underlings did he have there coaching the positions?

Seems like a smart hire considering the talent level on the Broncos. But the report of Kubiak as OC suggests it is more of a dual HC situation and perhaps somewhat controversial in how it will really work.

Dang, I was hoping those rumors of them trading Von and blowing things up would somehow come to fruition.
