Would love all input on our chances for our boys to make the Hall of Fame this year... Atwater is probably on the outside looking in and Lynch would go in as a Buc.. so Davis...

They can elect up to 5 Modern era finalist and up to 3 more with contributors, coaches, owners etc..

Favre is a LOCK and Owens will more than likely make it also, that leaves up to 3 spots.. This is TD's 10th year of eligibility and 2nd in a row as a finalist to be announced the eve of our big game ... ANY CHANCES for TD?

Some ammo to use when defending TD:
Terrell Davis is the greatest playoff running back of all-time

Are the Broncos the most overlooked team as far as HOF players? I think a great argument can be made that that's true. Try this one on - The 1990 Bills team, which appeared in the SB, but didn't win has 8 players on that one team in the HOF. Meanwhile in the entire history of the Broncos, there are 4 players!

I don't know that they are "the" most overlooked team, but they are certainly very much overlooked. Also agree that TD's record in the playoffs is a strong argument for his candidacy. Atwater, Gradishar. and Rod Smith are other Broncos who I think are HOF worthy.

Well we have the most Super Bowl appearances in the league compared to the number of HOF players in right now. We only have 4 HOF players in with 8 Super Bowl appearances which is tied for tops in the NFL. So yeah I would say we have a claim to that title. I mean the San Diego Chargers have more players in than us. Teams that haven't won the Super Bowl or been to one in over 30 years have more players than us.

As for which players get in. Honestly Lynch is the one I see of former Bronco players getting in. Yes he will be more recognized for his time in Tampa Bay so while we can claim him they definitely have more of a claim. All anybody looks at when talking about Davis is how short his career was. They seem to miss the part about how this guy even in that short career still owns some of the top records for rushing in the playoffs. Not only was he great in the regular season but he was even greater when the lights were brightest. All we keep hearing about these days is how a player does in the playoffs is what defines their career well then why doesn't that apply to Davis? Now I realize on the Broncos board I am preaching to the choir here on this issue. I just think it is truly ridiculous that he is not in yet.

I think there is a favorable feel about TD making it this year. I would be very excited about that. I wonder who would give his nomination speech?

If asked I would - but likely would be out of the country. ;)

Hypothetical...Lets pretend the broncos win the Super Bowl and manning retires. He will undoubtedly be remembered for his time in Indy and be inducted as a colt right but there would be an awesome case for the broncos...won just as many super bowls with us, MVP, broken all sorts of records, most points, most yards...I just think it would have to be one of the better arguments you could make even though he's a colt anyways

Pretending the Broncos won the Super Bowl is something I've been doing for two years.

It's a common misconception that players are inducted as a member of a particular team. They are merely recognized for their achievements.

TD averaged 142.5 yards rushing in the playoffs - that is not the games in your division vs crappy teams 2x per year, we are talking about playoff football vs the best of the best

That stat is unbelievable

He broke records with us but they were mostly built up with the colts. If players went in under a team he would be a colt all the way. They gave him his chance and supported him for well over a decade.

It is true but we as fans all know that certain players will always be remembered for playing for a certain team. I mean Elway is for sure a Denver Bronco HOF player. Same with Shannon Sharpe even though he didn't finish his career here. So while they are not technically Denver Bronco HOF players we as fans label them that way.

That's right. And on the bust it lists every team they played for and the years they played there.

I think people get confused because in baseball you get a team's hat, so they have to designate which team they're going in on.

John Lynch was a great player, but he was a far greater Buc than he was a Bronco. Same with Zim and T-Bone, in my opinion, though winning SBs as Broncos complicates things a bit.

CD, Sharpe did come back to the Broncos after his stint with the Ravens

I remember being overjoyed

His final 2 seasons were in blue and orange

Favre is a lock, but I think he's the only lock. I agree that TO should get in, but I'm not sure he's a first ballot guy with all the politicking and his attitude towards the media and such. Plus, there has been a logjam at the position for the past few years, leaving guys like Marvin Harrison, Andre Reed, and Cris Carter to have to wait. But a WR will get in this year, whether it's TO or Marvin Harrison. I think Kevin Greene may get in this year and he is probably the only defensive player. Then, you're looking at guys like Orlando Pace, who will go before Alan Faneca, imo. I think coaches and contributors count as part of the 5 non senior committee, so unless I'm wrong about that, I think it will ultimately be...

Favre, Harrison, Greene, Pace, and hopefully TD, but they may lean towards Dungy.

I never thought TD would even sniff HOF status because of his short career, but a few years ago, I googled Gale Sayers stats and put them up against TD's and I changed my tune on that real quick. Add in all the post season stats, Super Bowl MVP, NFL MVP, and a member of the 2,000 yard club and it's tough to keep him out.

Sharp played his last game in a Broncos uniform
