Bryz did play a good game tonight and make a few disgusting saves, but I think the whole team deserves a lot of credit for this win. They shut down the Bruins offense for the majority of the game and really limited their quality scoring chances. If they can continue to play this way we should be in for a great season.

I'm not gonna beat on Bryzgalov - he played great tonight, and the only goal he gave up was on a breakaway, so not much you can do. The defense has to get better at the start of the game. The Bruins missed the net a whole bunch today and if they'd hit, a lot of them were wide open looks (because our defense was screwing up by letting folks skate free near the crease). He certainly looks like he can make the saves he needs to make. That said, let's make sure he doesn't have saves he can't make.

nothing but agreement from this guy.. bryz looked real good, defense looked real not so good..

i said this is the preseason too, but i think the big chemistry thing that we need to watch is the transition from the d-men to the forwards.. up front the chemistry seems pretty good and on the back end it's good too, but the transition just looks sloppy right now

There's just a lot to be excited about right now with this team. I feel like we're going to block a lot of shots defensively and the tandem of Bryzgalov and Bob will both be able to steal games for us when the shots do get through. We should be able to dominate the special teams battle on any given night. As long as we're even or slightly better at even strength, we're going to win a hell of a lot of games.

Now to get some other guys going offensively like Briere, JvR and Hartnell.

Last season we probably would've choked that opening game away and lost in overtime or a shootout at best.

Agreed Mav there's no way they hold a 1 goal lead for 2 periods last year. Can't wait until everyone gels they'll be able to score and lock down other teams! Tonight will be a good test as the devs will most likely play it tight.

With this D in front of him 10 is definitely possible....the haters will soon realize Bryz carried the yotes not the other way around. Now that he has a solid D in front of him he won't break a sweat most games!

Let's just look at it this way. Bryzagalov saw an average of 31.25 shots per game last season with Phoenix. Through two games this season, he's seeing an average of 21.5 shots. That's pretty damn significant. Basically 30% fewer shots so far and you can imagine way fewer scoring chances against as well. I wish I had been able to pick him up in some of my fantasy leagues as it looks like he's going to dominate. I had him tagged obviously, but I just don't like to take goalies early on in live drafts, no matter who they are.

Now if we could just win a faceoff...lol
