Brees or Manning

If Manning is cut and Brees is franchized, but wont sign like he is saying he is which is a better choice for the niners?


Manning for 2-3 years or Brees for 4-6, but 2 first round picks gone?

Brees, in my opinion. Manning may never play again, his neck injury is what ended the careers of Sterling Sharpe and the Lions MLB Chris Spielman. I wouldn't give up 2 1st round picks on a maybe.

Plus, Brees is just outstanding. If anyone read my post in the other thread about Brees, this will sound familiar. I wouldn't expect the 4,000-5000 yard Brees that we've seen the last 6 years, as the 49ers don't play in a dome, but what he did in his last two years at San Diego is more than acceptable, it was very good and would be great here.

In the end though, I think Manning will be a Colt and Brees a Saint next season.. and the 49ers will be hoping Kaepernick learned enough this year to be a successful QB.

Always a good strategy, and with a QB you don't have to worry about someone putting in one of those killer clauses like Minnesota did with Hutchinson. Which, had something to do with guaranteeing the whole contract if he wasn't the highest paid player on offense.. or something like that..

Absolutely not. As IMAC pointed out, they are winless without him... and it is a shame because they figured "it" out. Although, the last two games they were without Matt Forte too... what bad luck for them.

I sure wouldn't expect the 49ers to win with Kaepernick and Hunter thrust into the starting line-up due to injury either. Although, I think the 49ers could win with Kaep and Gore, not 10 wins, but they could go 50-50 wins and loses.
