Trout also had a tough time in his first taste of the Majors, so it’s not anything unique to Adell.

Trout had an 89 OPS+. Certainly not good, but he at least looked like he fit into the majors. Adell batted .161/.212/.266 and struck out 55 times in only 132 PA. Not to mention he had a few lapses defensively. I still think Adell will be really good, but the two debuts aren't remotely comparable.

Alec Bohm gets no respect. He's clearly the next Mike Schmidt, or at least Charlie Hayes.

Agree about Bohm. He may have come up a bit early, but he needed to have real game action to continue his development. He looked a bit over his head at times, but hung in there nicely.

For the Mariners I would say Evan White our 1st baseman. He was our first round pick back in 2017 has an excellent glove he made his debut last season and struck out a ton but I am hoping for a good bounce back this season. Kyle Lewis had a great rookie campaign I would like to see our young players grow.

I'm excited for Dalbec, but I could easily see him ranging anywhere from 0-4 WAR. I do worry about his contact issues. He made only 56% contact and had a 21.2 swinging strike rate. His .263 average also came on a .394 BABIP. The lack of a minor league season probably didn't help. The thing with the Bryant comp I don't like is that Bryant was able to hit for high averages throughout the minors even with the K's, and contact has never really been an issue for him prior to 2020. Bryant had never hit below .270 until 2020 when he hit .206, but he was also dealing with injuries. Outside of his 34 game stint at Lowell (where he batted .386) and his 23 games in the majors last season, Dalbec has never hit higher than .260 at any other level. Still would rather roll with him than bring back Moreland... again.
