These stand out to me and Nebraska players need to live up to their 2010 motto and "finish".

"K-State has been fundamentally strong by keeping the penalties to a minimum. Wildcats have been called for 19 penalties for 41.8 yards per game (167 total), the lowest penalty average in the league."

"KSU owns the most blocked kicks in the nation since 2002 with 36. Since the start of Big 12 play in 1996, the Wildcats rank second in league with 52 blocks, only behind Texas."

These are typical Snyder teams. Not flooded with talent yet good fundamentally. They don't shoot themselves in the foot with a lot of penalties and they have good special teams play. Snyder always seems to find the right guy on his roster to return kicks and a big kick/punt return in a close defensive game can be the difference. K State will be bowl eligible this year.

I expect K-State to sell out against the run (like SDSU had success with) and make Martinez beat them throwing the ball. If Martinez struggles (like freshmen do) and NU's offense continues it's penalty/turnover prone play this game will be closer than some think.
NU rcvrs are going to have to step up and make plays in their one on one situations. Niles Paul cannot continue his one good play to four bad ratio. He is a senior and it's time to stop the hot-dogging and live up to expectations.

I've heard some media talk that since this is the only game Thursday and it being nationally televised there will be a lot of eyes on it. A convincing road win by Nebraska could be enough to sway voters to move NU over TCU and possibly even Boise St. Similar to what they did with Oregon last week.

Coaches
4 Boise State 1276 100 pts ahead of NU
5 TCU...........1187 11 pts ahead of NU
6 Nebraska....1176

GO BIG RED

FINISH!!!

I'm really on the fence about whether our offense can compete within the league. This game might tell us a lot about how far we have come since last years Ginnobli flop. KSt's defense isn't the best of the best but they are well coached and they have always had very good LB's.
If this game goes like the ones we played last year for the O after the VT game = Corn Train very mad, Smash TV!
I am very excited for this damn game to get here already!

I have always thought we would play a good game here. I just dont think K-state is strong enough to slow us down. In my honest opinion except for the UCLA win K-state to me is a weaker team then Idaho. They almost lost to IOWA STATE and I forgot who it was maybe central florida? Whoever it was they were terrible. I am not scared of K-state and for sure not texa$. My next scared game is Oklahoma state.

My only concern is if SDSU could shut down martinez KSU can. Hopefully they fixed that issue.

Texas has the athletes to match up with NU position by position. They'd be more apt to have success loading the box and going man-to-man on rcvrs than K. State would.

The difference between the two is K. State has average guys that play like a team and have sound fundamentals, and Texas who has a load of talent that play like individuals.

Either one can beat you if you help them..

Oh I agree completely they both CAN beat us only if we let them though. If we are on our A game both games I dont see any way they can beat us.

When Nebraska has the ball
UNL Rushing Offense 309.25 ypg (4)
KSU Rushing Defense 195.50 ypg (102)

UNL Passing Efficiency 144.70 (34)
KSU Pass Eff Defense 95.48 (5)

UNL Passing Offense 162 ypg (102)
KSU Pass Defense 153.75 (13)

UNL Total Offense 471.25 (14)
KSU Total Defense 349.25 (57)

When KSUcks has the ball
KSU Rushing Offense 216 ypg (22)
UNL Rushing Defense 138.75 (53)

KSU Pass Efficiency 147.20 (28)
UNL Pass Eff Defense 74.65 (1)

KSU Pass Offense 161.75 (103)
UNL Pass Defense 126.25 (3)

KSU Total Offense 377.75 (65)
UNL Total Defense 265 (11)

I knew I was forgetting a stat...........

When Nebraska has the ball
UNL Scoring Offense 40.00 (11)
KSU Scoring Defense 19.75 (30)

When KSUcks has the ball
KSU Scoring Offense 30.75 (50)
UNL Scoring Defense 12.75 (7)

So as you can see....... Every single one of our units is better than theirs........

We should be able to move the ball pretty easily, worst case scenario is they jam the box and Martinez struggles to hit open receivers like against SDSU- if this happens a QB change will need to take place early in the game....

When they have the ball......
They will not be able to pass the ball......... Our peso back will basically be playing line backer and our safetys will be up closer than normal.... We will let thomas get 3-4 yards a carry...... and they will likely move the ball in-between the twentys....... once we get inside the redzone we will pack in tighter and will shut down thomas and force them to kick fgs.......

I stand by my prediction from the prediction thread........

Nebraska 34
KSUcks 9

I personally think we aren't as good as our best game this year, nor are we as bad as our worst game this year!

Green's fumbles in 2010 certainly do count on this years stats.
