If the Dodgers don't win it this year, he probably needs to go. He has a bad habit of taking Kershaw out an inning too late and everyone else an inning too early. Also, while it didn't hurt them yesterday (and he actually did look good)...he keeps running Jansen out there to close. Jansen hasn't really had consistent closers stuff since his heart issue.
Kershaw is older and is a 5 inning pitcher at this point, but damned if Roberts won't run out there for the 6th anyway. Then, get a guy like Buehler who's got a shut out going for 6 innings and Roberts won't let him come out for the 7th. Roberts hasn't said that I've heard, but there was some speculation that his blister was bothering him. But I've seen Roberts do this way too many times to buy that.
I'm starting to see him like Del Harris in the NBA. Very good coach, will win you a lot of games and get you to at least the 2nd round of the playoffs almost every year...but just can't get over that hump.
