Maybe signing him back then was an indication that they're trying to trade down, because if they pick Young, that might force Allen to DT, and there'd be no room for Brantley - even on the bench - which I think would be a shame.

I'm sure he can play there - though he's under-sized. I don't think there's any evidence that he'd be much - if any - better at DT than DE. And the Skins were already set at starting DT's - that's where the best starters on the team play. Our starting DE's are the next strongest starters - with Allen on one side.

He was 286 at the combine, so if they had him bulk up to 300 - that's likely at the expense of his speed and agility.

He is listed at 300. It is very common to put on muscle at this level.
