He's baaaaack.
One-year deal if anybody cares. I don't get it. We're basically gonna have the same team as last year, except minus a few veterans, and plus a few rookies.
They have good core talent and a mediocre coaching staff. They've could've added some pieces. Instead, status quo. 9-7 or 8-8.
More like 7-9, which the ownership, and much of our retarded fan base is perfectly fine with.
I have 2 words for you
Armon freakin' Binns
they started that clown ahead of both Sanu and Jones, and you can't make that kind of shit up.
It's obvious the way the Bengals see it...... This was the best 2 years of Bengals football in over two decades. They're happy with it so they're keeping the gang together. 6-10 wins.... No playoff wins.
I think you hit it exactly. If we've made the playoffs twice with these guys, why not keep the exact same lineup? Logical, right?
In many ways the philosophy is correct.... If you have a young team that has made the playoffs you should try to keep the core of it together. But having a young team also means you have yourself in a favorable payroll situation. Now's the time to add some vets and push it over the top. We'll just spin our wheels instead.
Every team always intends to keep a good core together. This isn't anything the Bengals are doing different. But keeping the core together doesn't mean you can't sign good FA to compliment that core, which every good team does.
There is absolutely zero logic behind their philosophy.
This is ALL about spending money. If they sign players to the cap, with the number of players that need to be extended next season, there is no way for them to average only 89% over the course of 4 years. Instead, their average for those 4 years would be close to 100% by default. The ONLY way for Brown to save money over the next 4 years is to not spend it this year. And that's exactly what he's doing. Don't let them fool you with any kind of "philosophy" drivel.
